Martyred Motherhood annoys the fuck out of me anyway -- sorry to shit on the fairy tale, but having children is one of the single most selfish things people can do -- but GWOPpers really take it to the most ridiculous extremes... probably b/c they're reacting to the already ridiculous Kate extremes promoted by the media. (Like the Yummy Mummy thing, the "more kids = better mom!" thing, the whole "family values" crap.) It's like an endless cycle of Martyrtude.

I'm sure ol' PJ's Momma is the best mother ever, but here she focuses on what a fabulous person she is in other ways:

I am not overweight, I'm a very athletic runner and cyclist and we have always lived well below our means and are wealthy because of it. However, we give away way more than we spend because we don't have a dime of debt and don't care about expensive things. We still get to travel the world with my husband's job, which is a great joy of life. Life is about experiences, and relationships. She's managed to wring out a lot of experiences, but she seems to have very few relationships, and that is just plain sad. I am not nor have I ever been jealous of Kate. I can't stand her because she doesn't even try NOT to come off as a selfish, ungrateful, entitled, dismissive, narcissistic WITCH. Plus, she reminds me of my mother, who constantly had her fingers in our faces too, steered us by our heads or hair, and controlled us like little automatons (food to wardrobe to not being allowed to speak or have an opinion), which I still struggle against (in my mind/heart) as a 40-something woman.

To have birthday card after birthday card (or facebook wishes) arrive in your box every year is humbling and moving. Same at the holidays. One of my greatest joys lately has been handing out all the Hungarian paprika I bought for all my friends in Budapest. They squeal with delight that they were thought of and know they are loved and that warms my heart more than anything else. Same with my elderly WWII-vet friend who I bring trinkets from all over. I brought him a poppy from another country on Veterans Day (similar to the ones they sell here too) and he nearly cried and wore it until it fell apart.

Athlete, philanthropist, world traveler, perfect friend loved by millions, wealthy woman of leisure...PJ's Momma is living quite the idyllic life,despite her mother issues. What I want to know is who is taking care of PJ while his Momma is traveling the world with her husband? OMG, she doesn't have a nanny, does she?

Confession: I went to Budapest last year and I didn't buy one damn person paprika. *hangs head in shame*

Oh this is going to make GWOP's collective heads explode! Kate's mom is apparently defending her on a website (Radar Online claims they have confirmed it is her mom) and does the following things: Calls Saint Aunt Jodie and her sister Julie greedy and jealous (actually she does make a good point that it's awfully funny how they said the show exploited the kids only after Jodie was denied payment), insists Kate is a good mother, and, my personal favorite, says Pennmommy should use all that energy for a good cause.

Oh finally, something new to talk about! Kate's boobs just weren't doing it for me anymore.

If people like Pennmommy would use all that energy for a GOOD cause, just think how much better our world would be!!! Just sayin’…..

Awesome, a Pennmommy resurgence! Oh how I wish that yogurt obsessed nutjob and her fake dying family would come back!

As it turns out Kate's mom, if it really was her, has asked that her posts be deleted and apologized for what she had said about Kevin and Jodi:

Mom of KT says: "I am posting these comments to apologize to my family (specifically Kevin and Jodi) for the comments I made about them. It was wrong to say those things in a public forum (or anywhere actually). I went against my own motto: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.I am sorry, and it won’t happen again."

If the posts really were by Kate's mom then I guess it's apparent where Kevin picked up the trait of publically bashing a family member. That was stupid of her. All she had to do was speak positively about Kate without including her negative opinions about her son and his wife. After all, they have grandchildren they can use as leverage too! What a shitty family all the way around, in laws included.

Lynn said... I have contacted Representative Murt's office to ask the name of the judge that gave Kate permission to have the children filmed again. His office stated that they would find out and get back to me. If Rep. Murt gives me permission I will post the name and phone number of the judge. Hopefully if enough people care about these children and giving them back their childhood, we can have some effect on the ruling.

Well, I had to think about it for a long time, but I'm going to choose "incredibly creepy." And then offer the thought that if Rep. Murt gets back to her, she'll know it's actually Rep. Murt, who took time out of Rep. Murt's day to respond to her, and not an intern. And the thought that she'll lord that over the GWoPPers, her apparent importance that she received a response.

And if Rep. Murt's intern responds in the negative, the outrage!

The internet sure does give people a feeling of power, doesn't it? And how is this different from the bullying against children that people decry? Oh, because it's an adult, and in a position of leadership, specifically a judge, it's not bullying to post his/her name and phone number on a blog with rabid non-worshippers, so they can call again and again and again to express their displeasure?

Without a modicum of understanding of the law -- that this judge relies on, given his/her background -- to make the decision?

I can hear it now. "Well, state's rights and all. That judge should just write a new one."

While I agree that saying what she did in a public forum wasn't very smart, I wouldn't classify Kate's mom as "shitty". It isn't a very well known site, so I doubt she even thought about the possiblility of being quoted elsewhere. She had actually commented there several times before just in defense of Kate, nothing about anyone else, so I think she may have just gotten too comfortable. If she were just trying to be a bitch she'd have gone straight to Radar with that statement.
