The boys' dance really showed how weak Evan is next to Brandon. He was off right from the start. However, while I'm totally impressed with Brandon's physicality, I'm not especially moved by him. I like Kayla the best.

Jeanine is my favorite mainly due to her solos. I think Kayla is the best technical dancer, and Brandon looks so much like Carlton Banks it's distracting.
I think Evan has a hard time taking the "aw shucks, woe is me" look off of his face. Brandon has naturally goofy features (see above) too, but he has better control over his expressions, I think. For me, Evan and Randi's samba was like watching Eeyore try to be sexy.**
**Not that I'm saying Evan's looks are his problem, it's his inability to be aware of his expressions.

I can't get passed Brandon's HUUUUGE neck. He's a good dancer, but it seems his neck is bigger than his head. He looks freaky.
Evan wants to remind people he's a Gene Kelly wannabe. I don't think so. With apologies to Lloyd Bentsen, I've seen Gene Kelly, and Evan, you are no Gene Kelly.
I believe one of the girls will win. It always seems that way.

I believe one of the girls will win. It always seems that way. Not really. Season 1, it was Nick. Season 2 it was Benji, Season 3 it was Sabra, Season 4 it was Josh. 3/4 of the past winners have been guys. |

Jeanine won, and I'm completely okay with that. She was definitely versatile and a strong dancer. I'm pissed that Kayla went before Evan, but other than that, all is okay with the world.

When Kayla's name was called before Evan, I thought for a moment that his fans might have flooded the phone lines & that he might actually place 2nd - I never thought he could win.
I suppose he will turn up on Broadway but there are a lot of really excellent dancers that he will need to compete against for a Broadway job - is he really that good? I don't know.
I was happy to see Jeanine win - her last solo was fantastic!

Yes I am!! I was bummed that the tap dancing brother got booted. I'm curious to see if the girl who injured her ankle last week and didn't make the top 20 cut last yr will make it through this year.
I read online that Mia Michaels posted (on twitter I think) that she was through with Dance and wasn't coming back. I've seen her so far in the tryouts so I wonder what happened.

I'm watching! I'm really impressed by some of the dancers they've shown. The krumper (Russell?) is very talented, especially if he really doesn't have any formal training.
