I read online that Mia Michaels posted (on twitter I think) that she was through with Dance and wasn't coming back. I've seen her so far in the tryouts so I wonder what happened.

She was around for the auditions, but left as of last week, which means she won't be choriagraphing for the top 20 on.
Rumor mill says she was ticked that they decided to go with Adam Shankman as the third judge perminantly. Myself, I'm going to miss Lil' C's judging the most.

It seems that it's Shankman's year, what with the announcement that he'll be co-producing the Oscars. I can totall see Mia getting pissed that he's going to be filling a judging seat, but he's much better TV than she is... he has no problem with showing puppy-like enthusiasm, whereas she just comes across as smug and bitchy. Fact is, he's more likable and doesn't take himself so damn seriously.

I always watch SYTYCD... if you're going to watch a dance show, why not watch the one with true talent? I mean, rather then the one with ex-politicians and d-list celebrities stumbling about with former SYTYCD contestants.

Mollee needs to get booted fast; man, she's obnoxious. I wish they'd cut her and encouraged her to try out again after she'd matured a bit.

Word on Mollee. It might just be her young face, but she dances like she's a (well-trained) 12 year-old. Maybe it's the stint in High School Musical, but I'm ready to see her go. Hopefully she doesn't get paired with one of my favorite guys (i.e., Russell--LOVE HIM).

I'm also annoyed and really sad about their surprise announcement at the end. Sad because I really liked Paula(? the girl who got a movie contract) and annoyed because I hate Ashley. Her face-pulling is obnoxious.

Who were some of those people who made the Top 20? I feel like we never saw them before tonight.

Ashley looks so old in comparison to the rest of the kids... even her husband looks younger. I liked the random Gosselin reference (married with 18 kids!).

All in all, this season of SYTYCD was less exciting than the previous season, IMO. The choreography last night wasn't super exciting for a finale.

Anyone surprised by the winner?

I wasn't surprised but I am happy for Russel. Jakob made absolutely no impression on me during this stint - not with his dancing or his personality.

Should have been Jacob. That boy could dance like a mofo. Hopefully Billy Bell will make the cut again next year and knocks it out of the park.

I could see Russell winning just from personality, but I was a little offput by his acceptance speeach at the end. Most of the time they don't even let the winners say a word, let alone thank everyone he knows.

I'm glad Russell won, but I would have been happy seeing any of the top 4 win. They each brought someone so special and so different to the competition.

I am a little annoyed at the sheer number of musical guests they had...isn't this show about dancing? Not lip-synching? Or promoting Avatar?

ETA: Trixie, I just saw that! Yikes. First, Alex da Silva, now Shane Sparks. Who's next? My money's on Tyce (Obviously kidding - I don't wish that anyone engage in child molestation.)
