Here's a thought: if you can't work because you can't afford daycare, stop having so many kids. I'm not saying poor people shouldn't have children, but six? Then expecting other people to support you? No. This woman's sister must be a saint.

BTW, the husband doesn't know she's doing this.

I just heard on some talk radio show about people (in the UK, but I'm sure it's all over) who have jobs, but panhandle to pay for extras. Now, I'm not talking about the working poor who can't pay for both rent and food and panhandle just to top up to a living wage - no, one lady said she was saving for a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and someone else wanted to put in a pool!!

My youngest brother panhandled for a while. He didn't need to, his school, housing and other needs were taken care of by my parents, he just wanted to have some extra party cash. He was a scruff muffin with sad eyes so made quite a bit of cash.
My (needless to say) crazy ex-roommate used to panhandle for the hell of it, but she used to pretend to be pregnant. Her fake, pillow stuffed belly, got her so much cash. Pretty sad how these very well intentioned old ladies would hand over their cash, some would even bring her food to keep the baby healthy, or crochet her little baby clothes, and always offer her kind words and new parenting advice.
