I have been a member there for about 6 years or so. I usually just dropped in casually to read a few forums and have a good laugh. I must say, whoever did their 7th Heaven forum was amazing, it was snark at its best.

Heh, and to prove that point - I just peeked at the Lindsay thread ..
If something on a reality show makes me that mad? I'd better tell Mr. M to sell the TVs (and give me a big ole pill).
And yeah, WTF is with the alphabetical order on Previously.TV? That's one thing that made sense on TWOP. I could browse reality shows/talk shows/etc., and see them all at once. Why this is making me infuriated! HATE! Heh.

I loved TWOP when it was Mighty Big TV. It was something new & I could spend hours reading over there. When it was sold, things changed.Too many rules, mods overblown egos and so on. Wish I could say I'll miss it but I won't. Now if this site closed, I'd be crushed.

Dumb as their moderating is, it could be worse. I post on the Etiquette Hell forums frequently, and I see a lot of nervous "Let's change the subject; I love this thread and don't want it to be locked." And with good reason - one of my favorite threads was locked today because two posters were arguing about whether or not one should try to save a friend from a grizzly bear attack. The mod basically said "This is the dumbest reason I've ever had for locking a thread. Seriously, grizzly bear attack? Go outside and play." Um, then don't lock the thread, hmm? Give a slap upside the head to the two arguing posters and tell them to knock it off.

I wish that there could ever be an honest discussion and feedback about this. I'm not sure of the right venue - maybe a hijack of #RIPTWOP on Twitter? That sounds ruder than I like to be. If only the mods had ever participated in a forum where they weren't in control of the snot & bannination.

Like you should let someone die instead of helping because it's rude? I am perplexed.

You know how you use the culterly on the outside of the place and work your way in? as the courses progress? The same is true for defending yourself from a bear attack. But with weapons instead of forks and spoons. To go straight for a rifle without using the mace (on the outside, like the salad fork) first is gauche.
Just kidding. That site drives me crazy, so I stopped visiting it.

I've had my issues with the over the top moderation on the site but I'm really sad it's closing. It's the end of an era. I don't use Twitter or Facebook for TV show discussions. No matter what time you visited there were always new comments. I can't believe with all the traffic, they couldn't keep it going.

I watch shows and immediately want to go to the TWOP forums to see if people thought the same way as I did about anything. Plus they had threads on shows I don't know if I'll ever find any conversation about down the road. Also, the recaps, I'll watch a show and not get what happened and I would use the recaps to understand what happened. Will that new site have recaps? I'd love for this site to get a little more chatty in the TV forum.

I'm hoping that time has moved the original TWOP crew to greater maturing, and that in particular Wing got help with her depression/anger issues. Maybe not having "without pity" in the name will help the new site remain pleasant? I think one problem with the TWOP before the oldsters sold it was that it had become overwhelming to moderate. There were just too many posters. So far previously.tv is a pretty small site, but I wonder if it's going to blow up and what will happen then. So, so far I'm just lurking there. Maybe it will be a nicer place than TWOP has become. I hope I hope I hope. This. I hated the way people would fall back on the "without pity" angle. Let me preface this by saying: I'm a parent, so I obviously like children somewhat. But I don't necessarily love all children, and I do think they can be portrayed as entitled little snots on TV, especially in commercials, and I spent a good amount of time in those threads. But there is/was a small subset of posters who seem to hate children for even existing. Some people have said some pretty awful things, and no one got called out for that, while seemingly minor missteps were moderated to death. Look--I don't even know what tense to use. LOL
