TWOP3 - Television Without Pity

I'm hoping that time has moved the original TWOP crew to greater maturing, and that in particular Wing got help with her depression/anger issues.

No more than is apparent from her writing and overly nasty responses to guests on her own board. If the rule is you speak to people as if your guests at a party on the boards or expect to get kicked out, well, Wing was one of the hostesses. And she was just plain angry and nasty to many posters who were not being deliberately clueless or trolling.

And I'm being charitable guessing that as the site grew it became overwhelming to manage, and probably not as fun for Glark, Wing, Sars & co., and that she was moderating in haste a lot of the time. I forgot to say that I hope the money from selling TWOP helped them get to a happier, more mature place too.

I always thought that Wing was nasty too. I know that they had to put up with a lot of dumbasses but it seemed as though everything that she ever posted was either self-important or snotty. Have no beef with Glark, he seemed to be more mellow.

Re: Wing: She once wrote a lengthy, meticulous, un-ironic essay describing in detail how she wipes her butt. She self-published a shitty novel she wrote when she was a teen. She tore into Fametracker/TWOP users once because the site had a technical glitch on her hubby's birthday. According to someone I knew who knew her, she spent most of her day sitting on a couch watching television. Girlfriend had rage, self-importance, and, most likely, depression issues. I mean, none of that is healthy person behavior. MAYBE I can give her a "she was twenty-something" pass (was she twenty-something then?). But still, not healthy.

I liked the TWoP fourms, I never really read the recaps, but I won't miss the thinly veiled, and sometimes overt, racism and misogyny from some of the posters. I really won't miss the Live! and Judge Judy threads or the meltdowns over Colby Burnett and Arthur Chu on the Jeopardy thread.

And yeah, WTF is with the alphabetical order on Previously.TV? That's one thing that made sense on TWOP. I could browse reality shows/talk shows/etc., and see them all at once. Why this is making me infuriated! HATE! Heh.

I like the alphabetical order, because it cuts down on trying to figure out where some shows are, and then wondering who placed it there. Iyanla, Fix My Life is not a talk show by any stretch, unless they just mean people are talking on a television show.

Aww, I loved her recaps of The Amazing Race back in the day. Even though she gave me a warning about my tone because I didn't like those beauty queens.
