If you want the film to come to your city, demand it by clicking on the following link:

ETA: Or maybe that was just a publicity wind-up--it opens in Chicago today.

Holy shit you guys, saw it last night. I live in a 2 story townhouse by myself with a wooden staircase. Needless to say, I slept over at a friend's last night. I am a horror freak, and this isn't horror. I have never been so scared of a movie, and you could have heard a pin drop in the audience, best audience ever in a movie. You literally heard all the chairs creak from everyone pushing themselves down, it was so tense.
I thought this was one of the most realistic portrayals of a relationship caught on film as well. Could have done without the very last two seconds though, I wouldn't be surprised if they cut that off for wide release, bc everyone groaned. You have to see this at the theatre, there are a few things that a tv just won't pick up, too small and subtle.

ETA: Now I see that they have changed the ending? They need to change it back, it was a typical dumb unneccessary Hollywood ending that needs to be edited back out.

I haven't seen the movie, but from what I understand, you can thank a typical dumb Hollywood executive for that ending. When he got a hold of the movie, he decided in order for it to work, they needed to trim it down a bit, and then they and "punched up" the ending. And the ending is what I keep hearing people complain about.

It was the only blemish on a perfect suspense movie, and yeah, very obviously tacked on Hollywood crap.

Mr. Spin wants to know what the original ending was like. Can anyone spoil tag it?

Original ending. So much better. The ending pretty much ruined it for me as well.

Thank you! I read that there are two new endings now...that's ridiculous! Make a choice and stick with it. Didn't this get some testing with audiences? Obviously, they'd tell you which ending they'd like more. Damn studio!

I saw it with the new ending, and after reading about the other ending I think that would've worked so much better, much more psychological. I'm just happy that Spielberg decided not to remake the movie as a whole, which was the original plan. I thought the 2 leads were great, and truly seemed like a real couple.

I almost barfed during the Blair Witch Project. Is this movie shot with a wobbly hand-held camera too? I really want to see it, but I don't want to get motion sick again.
