I wish these bitches would just shut the hell up about their ideas of the perfect dress. It never fails, everytime I watch this show I say the following. Are you getting married? No. Are you wearing this dress? No. Unless you are wearing the dress, it's your job to stfu and be supportive.
A cathedral train is suitable if you are getting married in a cathedral, not the little town church with 200 people max.

A cathedral train is suitable if you are getting married in a cathedral, not the little town church with 200 people max. Amen to this--I have attended such a wedding. The bride's train extended halfway up the aisle AFTER she arrived at the altar, and apparently nobody had thought about how to turn her around once the ceremony was over--it took FOREVER to get that mass of taffeta out the door! Yes, Princess Diana's train was hyooge, but so were most of the royal family's wedding trains (and coronation robes) before her. The media hype and the wedding-industrial complex is probably more to blame for that than she was. Topic--Maybe it's just me, but why on earth would you bring more than one or two people with you to find your perfect dress? Some of these episodes are all about dress by committee. I can see bringing your parents, especially, to see the final fitting, but if you don't know what you want, and your friends have differing ideas, you're just asking for a headache all around. YMMV, of course.

God, more stripper fairy gown dresses! Why oh why do brides (and apparently the grooms) think this makes them look good? I have a feeling Jennifer's mother actually hated the dress but didn't have the heart to tell her. What amazed me is Jennifer admitted she was worried how her mother and mother-in-law would react and wondered if the dress was appropriate yet she still went for it! Also, maybe I'm over-the-hill at 25 but I thought announcing her pregnancy during the wedding was a wee bit tacky.
Ok, my gaydar started pinging when Lisa's fiancee showed up. Seriously, I expected Randy to show up and tell Lisa that she's a lovely woman and she doesn't have to be someone's beard in order to get married.

Totally angelaudie. I'm pretty sure Jennifer's mother was just being nice but wasn't impressed about her daughter's dress choice. I can see a bride wanting to look sexy, but I just don't get the whole lingerie look. It's just trashy.
;D Yes. What annoyed me about this episode was how both bride's had their whole decision riding on their fiance's opinion. Even when they clearly showed they liked a certain dress it was off the list the second fiance said they didn't like it. The beard bride looked really nice in that one dress, and her mom declared she could see her daughter married in the dress, yet the second the fiance declared it was a tablecloth it was out.
Next week should be fun. The previews of the bride declaring that gaudy, trashy, budget busting $8500 dress is HER dress. Yes, should be fun.

I thought that showing the dress to the fiancé before the wedding (let alone having him weigh in on the purchase) was a big no-no for bridey brides. Here's a fantastic article about the ubiquity of strapless wedding dresses. As for the stripper fairy look, I'm assuming it's an extension of the bridey bride view that a wedding is her red carpet turn. Another great observation...

There are two no-nos regarding wedding gowns that I know of. The first is not to let the groom see the gown before the wedding and secondly, not to buy a gown before you get engaged. Both of these no-nos are considered bad luck. I don't like this trend of having the grooms there.
The Lisa and Jennifer escapades were the saddest examples of codependency I have seen on this show. Jennifer made a comment (can't remember exactly), that just made me cringe. It essentially implied that she couldn't make a decision without her man and wanting his approval. Lisa's bf pinged my gaydar too. He also gave me that pouty, passive-aggressive vibe.
Jennifer really should have opted for the fabric panelling on the midriff. At least she didn't wear the gown in a church. I was laughing my ass off when she said she was getting married at a chateau. Listen girly, a chateau is a large country estate in France, not some tacky ass wedding facility in New Jersey.

Heh. The episode also featured a bride that bought her gown before her boyfriend proposed! The whole episode featured things that are supposedly bad luck! God, I don't know what's sadder-- Lisa and Jennifer unable to make a decision without their men or a woman buying a wedding gown before she gets a wedding proposal. Both are kinda desperate. Also, I think the TLC's SYD recapper also suspects Lisa's fiancee is gay:
Oh man, my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw that dress in the previews! Jennifer's stripper fairy gown is downright classy and sophisticated in comparison! Also, is it just me or does the bride have a Victoria Gotti look about her?

Also, Lisa passhole-aggressholed her gay bf in one exchange. She was dithering on some dress or other, and he made a "have you made a choice?" type comment. She replied with, "well, if you had gotten here sooner, we would be done by now." Of course, this just ratcheted up the obnoxious factor and her "I really cannot make a decision without him, tee tee tee!" comments earlier seem merely just pathetic and idiotic.

Darn. I missed the end of the episode. What happened with the blond twit who had her heart set on the overpriced gilded ho gown? Did the fiance go rob a few banks to get it for her, or what?

Well, they decided not to buy the dress then, but it seemed kind of ambiguous otherwise. I got the impression they were going to try to save, postpone the wedding, and then buy it, maybe.
