I've been watching it. There's definitely something missing, almost like they're just going through the motions.

Yeah, it's not laugh out loud funny--more like "sentimental amusement" at this point. I guess it beats a hanging ending like Deadwood or The Glades or 100 other shows?

Yeah I mentioned in the What are you watching thread it feels like a shell of its former self. It isn't terrible, just not necessary. And I do like Paget Brewster and Keith David. I think they have been really funny in other things. But it just isn't the same. I think they could have had a good natural ending with graduation. I don't even know why they are all still there. I know Jeff is a teacher but why are the rest of them still in school?

It's not like they actually study, right? I've totally forgotten what they're doing, or Paget Brewster's role. I'm sure they made it clear, I've just already forgotten. She's funny enough but I have no idea what anyone's up to, just the usual: Annie's shrill, Britta's angry, Abed still makes movies. I liked the recent callbacks to Troy & Chase. Might as well have fun with it on this platform. Go out with a bang!

They're now on some sort of committee to Save Greendale or Improve Greendale or something like that. I think Annie is the only one of them that actually goes to classes anymore.

Ah, ok. That's helpful. I do enjoy the increased use of secondary characters, and Keith David, although random (what's he studying??), cracks me up.

I actually think Chang is the funniest character now which is crazy. I kinda feel bad for Alison Brie. I think she has the best chance out of the whole cast to have a decent movie career but she is hindered by the commitment to this show.
ETA: I think it was a mistake to not release all the episodes at once. It makes no sense to keep to a once a week schedule when it is being aired on Yahoo now. I keep forgetting that there is a new episode every week. The other Yahoo show, Other Space released all their episodes at once so I don't know why they didn't do that with Community. (Other Space is mildly amusing too btw.)

I agree re: episodes. I have no idea when it's on & Yahoo barely loads for me; by the time I catch up it's in batches anyway. I have no idea how this'll all end...

The series finale was last night (although there was a hashtag for a movie, I think that may have just been another sorta-inside joke). It went out weird & kinda funny, as usual. Shirley came back, Troy didn't (damn Glover!). I did feel a twang of nostalgia; when it was good it was really, really good.

I thought it was a fitting series finale, weird and funny and a little sad. I hope this is the end and the show lets go with a little dignity. Yahoo has hinted they may bring it back but I hope they don't. Especially if Abed, Annie and Keith David's character don't return. It's okay for shows to end! Not everything has to last 10 seasons or be rebooted or become a limited TV event.
