Sorry. Redone. It's the Louvre and it's August and it's those darn French. Not Me!

Maybe that green thing of Rania's would look better if she were wearing something that it matched. In that picture, it just looks like a hunk of GREEN on top of her head? Anybody have a shot of the tiara on its own?

Stupid question: Are the jewels that belonged to Elizabeth 1, Bloody Mary and Mary Queen of Scots still in existence?

Some of those jewels have survived. This book has some of them.

I saw a documentary long ago in which Queen Elizabeth was talking about the crowns and tiaras. She was asked if they are awkward or heavy to wear and she said yes. She said that for a few days before an event she will wear the assigned crown or tiara under a head scarf to practice with and get used to wearing it.
I thought that was a very clever and normal thing to do. I would, too, if I ever had the opportunity to have to wear a crown or tiara.

Interesting piece on some of the Spanish royal family's jewels (particularly the tiaras).

I prefer these Spanish tiaras to any British ones I've seen. Not that I stand a snowball's chance in hell of ever laying eyes on any of them.
