Interesting piece on some of the Spanish royal family's jewels (particularly the tiaras). All of those are simply gorgeous.

Hm. How did I not know that Queen Sofia is the granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm?

If you love royal jewels and history, this is a wonderful blog! It covers all of Europe's royal families and I've learned so much perusing it.

Hm. How did I not know that Queen Sofia is the granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm? She's actually his great granddaughter. Her maternal grandmother was Wilhelm's only daughter, Princess Viktoria Luise. Incidentally, Princess Caroline's loutish asshole (estranged) husband, Ernst August, is also a great grandson of Wilhelm, through Viktoria Luise (who married the Duke of Brunswick of the House of Hanover). Napping Athena, totally agree with you on the Swedish royal jewels. I think I prefer the Bernadotte jewels to those of QEII. I absolutely love the Cameo Tiara.

I love that floral tiara. Just in case someone is looking for a Christmas present for me.

I love that floral tiara. Just in case someone is looking for a Christmas present for me. OMG, yes! I would wear that just to do the dishes or take the dogs to the vet. A lovely, all-purpose, everyday diadem.

You could totally wear it to walk the dog. It would cover up the fact that you're still in pajamas- nobody would notice!
