Glamour has put out a piece on royal engagement rings we 'have never seen.' (Most of those, I hadn't actually seen.) I can't post this enough, 'cause I believe it's true: nobody does wedding fashion quite like the royals. And I had no idea how huge the impact of a royal wedding could be on the wedding gown design world (a few of those wedding pics were the clear inspiration for the work people like Monique Lhuillier turned out in the same time periods.)

Absolutely LOVE Princess Astrid's ring. I could wear that while grocery shopping, and leave the tiara for dog walks. I like to keep it simple.

Margrethe II's ring looks weirdly lopsided.

I like the asymmetry of Margarethe's ring, and I also like that her manicure looks both self-inflicted and kind of worn. I'm conflicted on Mathilde's--it's somewhere between high school class ring and lovely pre-Raphaelite bauble.

Love Princess Astrid's gorgeous ring, but my other favorite in there belonged to good ole Fergie. (Oval ruby, diamond halo...stunning.)

I had to click to see if my favorite ugly ring was included - Princess Marie of Denmark's red-white-and-blue-on-gold monstrosity. LOL at Glamour pointing out that she no longer seems to wear it.

I like the idea behind Marie's ring-it's for the flag of France where she's from. But the execution is lacking.

Which is great because I don't have to fight anyone for it. It is Princess Mable of Orange- Nassau's band made up of loosely connected diamonds. For some reason it makes me think of small rocks tumbling down a stream or soothing similar things.
