That was by far the most unique ring in the collection. I wonder if that design would work as well with a narrower width...

Margrethe of Denmark doesn't have her own thread and we don't have generic one for Danish Royals, so I thought I'd put this here. Not jewels, but the Queen has been needlepointing an antependium for the past two years for the Gråsten Palace Church. As a fellow crafter, I can say she did a lovely job and the colors are striking. Wow, they're beautiful. I guess they'll disappear into a private collection somewhere. They've got to be far more valuable as they are than as melted down gold and jewels. That antependium is exquisite. No wonder it took Queen Margrethe two years.

QMII lost her husband earlier this year, so between his illness and death she probably did not have a lot of time to devote to it. But, yes, something so exquisite and intricate is going to be very time-consuming. She is a very talented artist, and I think that, much like Prince Charles, is very much a Renaissance person with varied talents & interests.

As for the jewels, I hope someone wanted to possess them; it’s the only chance they’ll ever be recovered. Otherwise, they’ve already been deconstructed for sale.

Yeah, my guess is that they've already been broken up and melted down and the stones sent to be recut.
