I think her face is sort of interesting. But in every other respect she's extremely annoying.

Her mother writes songs in Nashville. My guess mom called in some favors to get her darling daughter signed. If she actually had talent I wouldn't mind (hey Lady Antebellum took advantage of their famous family connections to land a deal!*) but she makes Britney look like a pre-crack Whitney Houston!

*Hilary Scott's mother is Linda Davis, a former background singer of Reba McEntire. Linda got a lot of notice Reba released their duet "Does He Love You", which was a #1 hit. Charles Kelley is the younger brother of Josh Kelley, aka Mrs. Katherine Heigl. Dave Haywood is a childhood friend of Charles so he's basically the only one that didn't have a famous family connection.

Heh. I think the official story was Kesha's mom was on welfare and poor but she eventually landed a publishing deal in Nashville.

There is some more, but the woman manages to be both (mercifully) brief and inarticulate. In Kesha-speak, the rest of it can be summed up as: OMG my daddy was never there and it's, like, so hard for me to trust men. Srsly!

Apparently, for a few years, mom was also a Cyndi Lauper wannabe who moved to LA to try to make it big. So this time there's some babble about how they were poor and squatting in a house near the beach where they listened to country music all day.
(Yeah, I'm starting to think she's channeling Vanilla Ice....Next time it'll be Austin and they'll be shacked up in an abandoned RV....)

The article tries to compare Kesha's "style" to that section of Blondie's "Rapture" where Debbie Harry does a little rap. That may explain a lot about my dislike of Kesha's music, because I have always fast-forwarded that section of Rapture!!!

I'm sure it is by design, but she reminds me of the drunk chick at a party who realizes she is drunk and tries to be attractive to all the guys and it just comes out badly and she winds up throwing up all over you.

I think her style is very derivative of many other pop artists with a load of trashiness and pseudo sex appeal. Alot of guys want to hear a woman say anybody wanna make out, but you do it when you are drunk and never tell anyone later on. But, if it sells your music and live performances, then I can't blame the woman for continuing to make a living.

I doubt she will last that long though. Novelty acts like hers never do.
