Did anyone see him many moons ago on The It Factor? It was a reality show on Bravo that followed around a bunch of aspiring actors. It was filmed right as he was doing promotion for Dahmer and it ended with him getting a role in SWAT. He was literally the only person on the show that was not batshit insane, and (maybe not-so-coincidentally) he's the only person who ended up having any success. I love that he's getting recognized now because you could tell he worked so hard for it.

Interesting. It's always kind of neat when you see someone way back when and then they break out big.

He looks a lot better now. Or maybe he looked good back then too but that he was trying out for the Dahmer part may have coloured my perception of his looks. Anyway, he looked good in the clip where he heard about his nomination. He sort of looks like a cross between Benjamin McKenzie and Nathan Fillon.

Out of all the actors on The IT Factor, he did seem to have something different. Or maybe he seemed the less annoying. I can't remember which, but he was memorable enough for me to remember who he is.

I'm pulling for him so hard. I want an Oscar upset in the worst way. The Hurt Locker was one of the best movies I saw this past year.

When he was on the Jimmy Fallon show, they brought up his former band and stuff, and he sang some of a Billy Joel song while the band backed him up. He has a very nice voice, kind of soulful. Right up my alley.

Just finished watching the Hurt Locker, and he was great. Liked the movie, didn't love it, but I hope this is Renner's big break. Guy's got talent.
