Look, I get it, I still play my old Ted Nugent records, so digging Maverick makes sense to me.
But we’re still Team Pillow, right?

Saw Top Gun Maverick this afternoon, and it was so much fun! The music was so nostalgic.
(Also, please forgive me… I can’t believe I’m typing this out… but, Tom Cruise is attractive in this movie.)

Jurassic World Dominion it was a nice ending. I only went to see the OG trio, the original will always be my favourite of them all. I don't know why the Claire and Owen characters never really faced any consequences for unleashing dinosaurs on the world and all the death and destruction they caused. No real mention other than Claire saying she had "regrets". Okay...
Also, there was before the movie a UNDP climate change ad with a Velocirapter talking about the "Don't Choose Extinction" campaign and we joked that it's probably the next movie in the series: Jurassic Park: United Nations

Saw Top Gun for the second time last night. I liked the first experience a little better because the audience was very into it. Last night was basically total silence from everyone. Still a great movie though!
I also watched an advance screening of The Black Phone. I don't know how I feel about that movie. I think I liked it? It was just kind of disturbing to me so much so that I even had a dream about it.

We saw Top Gun again as well and realized it is just like watching Cruise’s MI movies. You end up liking the supporting cast. I wouldn’t mind a more sequels or even a series, it wouldn’t even need to have Maverick, he could retire. Miles Teller was always a douche to me but his casting as Rooster was bang dead on, Monica Barbaro was amazing as Phoenix and Glen Powell as Hangman is a very very pretty guy.

The Black Phone. Decent thriller--Ethan Hawke scared the crap out of me, plus I do love a 1970's-era story.
Where The Crawdads Sing. Very, very faithful to the book, which I liked, so it worked for me.

Ok, I'm here looking for the thread about Persuasion. Have I missed it somewhere?

Ok, I'm here looking for the thread about Persuasion. Have I missed it somewhere? Haven't seen a thread. I enjoyed the movie once I erased all memory of the book from my mind!

I saw Nope and it's super weird, but I enjoyed it. If anyone has seen it please let me know, because I have a question about one key plot point in the movie!
I liked it better than Us and less than Get Out. But I'd be more likely to rewatch it than the latter, which I know doesn't make sense.
It's creepy, otherworldly, and self-reflective all at once. 😁

I saw it and had similar thoughts.
But I liked it the least of Peele's trio of films.
