I love seeing Meryl Streep's daughter! She looks perfectly period, doesn't she? Although, I don't really need to see the movie now because that trailer said it all.

Holy shit, Elizabeth: The Golden Age looks amazing. The imagery is spectacular. And can we just give the Oscar to Cate now? I actually got chills watching this. See it!

Watching the trailer for Evening is like looking into a time warp 30 years ago when seeing Meryl's daughter. She really is a young version of her!

One of the previews when I saw Hot Fuzz today was a total POS called Delta Farce. Oh my GOD. Thank goodness no one in the audience laughed at this tripe, because I would have lost all faith in humanity. Total trash, with Larry the Cable Guy to boot. It was so bad it hurt my feelings.
ETA: A preview that looked very interesting was for Julie Taymor's new film, Across the Universe. I'm undecided whether I'll actually see it in the theater, since the Vietnam War-era coming-of-age films have been done to death, but doing it as a Beatle musical is intriguing.

I've heard that Taymor is trying to get her name off the movie because the studio made some drastic re-cuts without her consent, that makes me a bit leery of seeing it even though the trailer looked good.

Hmm. That doesn't sound like a good sign. I'm surprised the studio would do that, since her last film Frida had such good reviews. Thanks for the heads up!

:-[Oh man. I totally laughed at the trailer. I don't know what is wrong with me. I am not a Larry the Cable Guy fan at all but something about the stupid... it made me laugh.

Delta Farce looks like it would be funny...if we weren't still at war. Bah, that might just be my college PC chip talking.
ETA: Evening definitely looks like it has Michael Cunningham's stamp on it. Pretty, thoughtful... A mom-bonding movie for sure. Patrick Wilson is just so easy to stare at. Dreamy.

I saw the new Hostel 2 trailer last night, and it really pissed me off. It basically outlines the price of torture victims: Russians are cheap, Mexicans are more expensive than Canadians, but of course young white American girls are going to cost you.
Why is this acceptable?? I hate shit like this that's designed in such a way that any criticism of it automatically makes you a overreacting feminazi harpy.
But I would pay a pretty penny to have Eli Roth's and Tarrantino's nuts in a vice for a couple hours.

What is it with B-minus level stars appearing in horror comedies lately (Nathan Fillion in Slither, f'rinstance)? And it's no coincidence, I think, that The Tripper opened in limited release on 4/20. The Evan Almighty trailer caused me to roll my eyes back so far as to sever my optic nerve.
