Man, I haven't thought The Simpsons has been funny in the past decade, so imagine my shock when I laughed at Spiderpig. It gave me just a teeeeny bit of hope for the movie!

Is this a cast list or is this a cast list? ( The Ten). I love how, in the trailer, the announcer's reading of the cast list becomes increasingly guttural ("Liev Scheiber" becomes "leaghhhhh", "Justin Theroux" is, well, a spitting sound) but then "...and Jessica Alba!" I absolutely love The State and Wet Hot American Summer and Stella, so this'll be very much at the top of my Summer Movie list. (And is that a weird remix of Talking Heads' "I Zimbra" under the unrated trailer?)

New Atonement trailer. God, it's ridiculous how excited I am about this movie! The constant "Come back to me!" reminds me a bit of Cold Mountain but James McAvoy (yay!) and Keira seem like a much better pairing than Kidman and Law.

I swear, the worst thing about seeing any movie that's rated PG or G is that you're subjected to the WORST TRAILERS IN THE WORLD. We saw The Simpsons today and all the trailers were for execrable "family" movies. I know family movies don't HAVE to be terrible so why is it that so many of them are?
We were subjected to: ...Some Alvin & the Chipmunks CGI abomination ...A Daddy Day Care sequel at a summer camp ...Something starring The Rock where he finds out he has a little girl who comes to live with him and proceeds to use the Bedazzler on all of his personal belongings
Normally, I enjoy the trailers almost as much as the main feature but this afternoon I was screaming for mercy.

Call me slow but I don't quite get the plot of Atonement based on the trailer. From what I saw, the evil looking blonde girl plots against James and Keira's characters, which ends up causing him to leave to fight in the war, causing much distress to our lantern-jawed heroine? Am I close?
It'll be interesting to see how Universal will campaign for both Atonement and Elizabeth: The Golden Age come Oscar season with their two English period pics. As much as I like her, I hope they don't promote Keira over Cate!

What does James say at the end of the Atonement trailer?
I love his voice. ;D

atreides, you're sort of close. The blond girl, Briony, isn't really evil at all, though. You should pick up the book; it's a quick read and is absolutely beautiful, and pretty devastating. I'm so excited for the movie I can't think straight. The casting is perfect. Just what I imagined.

And I was stunned when I first saw Briony, she is exactly as I pictured her when I read the book. That never happens for me.

I am so excited for Things We Lost in The Fire with Benicio Del Toro, Halle Berry and David Duchovny. I was in Vancouver when they were filming this and was actively stalking them but no luck. Things We Lost in The Fire Behind the Scenes footage
