Danny Boyle + Alex Garland + Cillian Murphy + Chris Evans + (Michelle Yeoh + Troy Garrity) + Reigniting a dying sun = SunshineThis films looks like it adds further evidence to the notion that Danny Boyle can do any genre. It's out this weekend in the UK and -- what? what?!?!?! -- in September Stateside.

As part of a "blaxploitation" festival, the theater owner got his hands on every vaguely related trailer he could and cut them into an hour and a half of trailery goodness. From the Jazz Singer onwards. There were only an handful of people in the theater, which was a pity.

That sounds so cool, spordelia. I love watching trailers, whether good or bad. One of my biggest movie-going peeves is people continuing to talk at full volume during previews. The movie may not have started yet, but I still want to hear what's going on!

I think I love trailers more often than the actual movies.

Yet another reason for me to hate Adam Sandler. So unfunny.

I'm pleased to report that in a theatre filled with Tarantino fanboys today, the trailer was greeted with... silence. Except at the end, when some clever wag shouted "what the fuck?"

That's just horrifying. It's like Boat Trip for a whole new generation.

And just like that, my inexplicable love/slight crush on Kevin James [my mom loves her some King of Queens and he's actually...kinda funny in it. And kinda cute, somewhat] dies a swift painful death. For the sharp-eyed, check the writing credits. Alexander Payne is a credited writer. Yes, the same guy behind Election/Sideways somehow contributed to this. Stop taunting me, bstewart! I can't see Grindhouse until tomorrow at the earliest!
