Really - for Magic Mike? I don't think people went to see the movie for the stand-out acting. So nothing for Les Miz or had they not screened it in time for their vote? I wonder if Anne is getting nervous.

I'm disappointed that I was disappointed by "Silver Linings Playbook". Never could get into it. Funny in some parts, and Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro are very good. They should show up on the Short List nominees. But why people are claiming Jennifer Lawrence will win an Oscar for this proves just how weak a year it has been for Actresses in notable roles (again, as usual.) I just didn't see that she had much to do.
Really happy for MacConaugheyhey! He was good in MM, which I thought was one of the best of the year so far.

I'm liking the attention for Zero Dark Thirty. If Hurt Locker was Best Picture worthy, ZDT is a hundred times moreso.

It seems like the Oscars might actually be somewhat unpredictable this year. It'll be interesting to see how the other awards play out throughout the season.

Interesting. Again no love for Les Mis. I think GG and SAG noms come out soon so that might clarify things a little better.

Early word is that The Hobbit is good (but overly long), but not Oscar-worthy like its three predecessors. Assuming it only gets technical nominations, it's probably because the Academy feels they amply rewarded the original trilogy.

I don't think the critics will go for Les Mis that much but the guilds, GG and Oscar will love it. I'm surprised though that Hathaway hasn't shown up yet but that will definately change as soon as the bigger awards are handed out.

I wish the Oscars had a best ensemble or best cast award. Sometimes an individual doesn't stand out that much, but the sum of the whole is amazing.
I also like the awards for the acting equivalent of Rookie of the Year.
