I saw Doubt tonight and I would give Viola Davis the nod over Amy Adams.

The Producers Guild announced their nominations today. PGA nominations are considered a good indicator of the Best Picture Oscar nominees. And the PGA nominations are:The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Dark KnightFrost/NixonMilkSlumdog Millionaire

After last year's low ratings and the dark and violent theme of last year's winning film, it wouldn't surprise me if TCCOBB wins Best Picture at this year's Oscars. It has a Forest Gump feel about it and FG won Best Picture.

It wouldn't surprise me either. I'm now wondering if perhaps the TDK now has a shot at being nominated. I know it's just a comic book movie but it was a huge hit and it had major critical acclaim. I could some members of the Academy nominating it if nothing else to help boost ratings. I don't think it's a coincidence that when films nominated are in wide release and many people can see them the ratings are higher. People want to cheer on movies they've actually seen. If TCCOBB and TDK were both nominated for Best Picture that would be two wide release films, one of them quite mainstream, nominated. I think the ratings would be higher as a result.

As long as it doesn't mean that Brad Pitt wins an Oscar (before Leo DiCaprio!), TCCOBB can win 12 Oscars if the Academy loves it that much (and I'm sure they do).

The BAFTA longlists are out. I wonder if Kate will get a double actress nomination? I can totally see that.

Not sure about that as the buzz on Milk seems awfully quiet compared to Benjamin Button or Slumdog.

When will people stop giving Woody Allen awards for everything he does? That shit is tired.
