I want Jeremy Renner to win so badly now. After seeing his reaction to the nomination, he's just too cute and genuine for words.
Aww, that was cute. I'm rooting for him as well. I have a soft spot for him because I remember watching him on that Bravo reality show "The IT Factor". He seemed like a sweet guy then when he was just starting out. Did anyone else watch that show, by the way?
Awww As I said before, I'm rooting for him and hope for an upset though I like Bridges and I guess many people in the industry do too. There haven't been many surprise winners in the acting categories since Adrien Brody back in 2002. So I guess with Bridges winning so many pre-Oscar awards it'll be him who takes Oscar home. Also: man, I'd be happy if at 58 I'd look as great as Kathryn Bigelow does.

Sam Rockwell, Viggo Mortensen for The Road, and District 9 guy. And Julianne Moore. and Zoe Saldana. Ferngully with 3d glasses and she sold that crap. Yea, those people were overlooked too. Mortensen seems like the most glaring oversight... though I guess The Road's buzz kind of disappeared.

Actors are the largest voting block in the Academy and I get the sense that they're not crazy about supporting a movie that takes the film industry one step closer to making them obsolete. Do most actors really see it that way, though? Especially since Avatar actually filmed all of the actors and used their performances to create the, well, avatars. It may have been on a big soundstage with a hundred cameras and bodysuits and dots all over and green screens, etc., but Avatar was actually filmed before it was rendered. Besides, the cost of making such a film will be prohibitive for a long time to be done other than every so often - and even if in 50 years it's just par for the course to digitally render actors for films, I doubt that traditional acting on screen will ever be obsolete.

He's such a good actor and seems like a humble guy. He made such a strong impression right away in The Hurt Locker. Go Jeremy!

To continue the Jeremy Renner love fest, here's a totally adorable video of his family watching the nominations and reacting to his name being said. So cute. I'm almost scared to suggest opening a thread for him because we all know that this is the place where crushes die .

I was pleased to see In The Loop nominated in the screenplay catagory - one of my favourite films of the year!

I'd love for him to win too (like an Adrian Brody upset)... but I think Jeff Bridges is too well liked for that...
