Well, at least I know I haven't lost my touch. Apparently I just need to talk to myself a little.

Three young adults, (could be mid-twenties or late teens) two male and one female, wandering around America--Los Angeles, I think, but could be the whole West coast. Could be either drama or dramedy. Mid-'80s and may have been filmed in black and white. Supposed to be some kind of a cult film. I used to think the title was Lost in Paradise, but evidently, there are no films with that plot (according to IMDb).
Anyone?
ETA: It's not Lost in America, the film about the people who quit their jobs and cruise around the United States in a Winnebago.

Russian, or Eastern European, or something? And the girl is one of the guys' sister or cousin? (Er, even if that _is_ it, I don't know what the movie is; I just remember reading a description of it a while ago.)

Stranger Than Paradise (1983)? You'd remember it for the black and white film and Screamin' Jay Hawkins soundtrack.

Vampire movie where people try reverse their vampirism with high degrees of heat. It was a crap movie but my husband has been asking me about it and I just cannot remember what it was.

"Daybreakers", with Ethan Hawke, used sunlight in an old wine fermentation tank. Could that be it?

yes! I knew it wasn't an old film. He wanted to watch it again but all we could remember was the high heat/vampire thing.

The main character might be a retired cop (not sure but he has some connection to the force). Somehow he goes into this house to clean up a bloody crime scene. There is a whole scene showing him being very thorough about cleaning up a white sofa. Later he goes back to the house for something, but a woman answers the door and has no idea about a crime being committed in the house so he walks away.
I feel like the person playing the main character is an actor I should know, but Im not able to remember his face.
