I also watched Branagh's Frankenstein and won't even go into how poorly directed that was. At one point, Helena Bonham Carter's character was supposed to be writing a letter, and her quill was visibly an inch away from the paper and moving four times as fast as anyone could write. It was like how people write letters in SNL sketches, except worse and funnier.
Robert De Niro was also woefully miscast as the Creature. I hope the ghost of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley haunted that set.
