Live Free or Die Hard is coming out this week and I was curious if anyone knows if there's going to be a director's cut? Say, an unrated one that has all the painfully obviously missing "fucks" put back in?

Yes, the movie will be available in theatrical and unrated versions. The reviews that I've read of the unrated version state that there are still some scenes missing their "fucks" though.

Well, at least some of the 'fucks' are back! Thanks atreides.

Woo-hoo! In 3 short days I'll have my grubby little mitts on the Blade Runner 4-disc set (the 5-disc set is for babies) and the "Director's Cut, the one we should have released months ago rather than screwing all you fans" edition of Zodiac.

Isn't the DC only, like, four minutes longer with not many substantial differences?
Yay, format war is over! BluRay FTW!
Though I was in Best Buy yesterday and it's almost *too* perfect looking and smooth. It's like Keira Knightley was three feet away from me, but not really. I kept swinging back and forth between "so real" and "totally artificial." Film needs some grain.
After Lost Highway comes out, I'll just be waiting for a R1 of Celine & Julie Go Boating -- a film which I love, despite all my film school friends hating it.

Well, for me the special editions of Fincher movies are practically film school. I learned so much about film stock choices just by watching the extras in the Se7en package, and to hear Jodie, Forrest and Dwight (three actor-directors) dissecting Fincher's style and skill for Panic Room was pretty awesome, not to mention the Fincher commentary and the writer's commentary by Koepp (who may not be the best writer but sure has a lot to say about the process).
In short, Fincher DVDs are so much more than just the movie. As if the movie wasn't enough, but you get my drift.
I'm not impressed, either, with the hi-def experience in stores. It's impossible to properly judge which screen is best when the stores themselves don't show proper test images and none of the sets are properly calibrated. I bought the biggest, heaviest Sony tube a few years ago and don't think I could migrate it into a bedroom (or anywhere, for that matter; it's yooge!) so I'm not terribly motivated to upgrade yet, and will probably wait until the next-gen bluray machines to come out before taking the leap.
And I'll be the guy waiting impatiently behind you at the cash register line when Lost Highway comes out.

There are two commentary tracks, 7 deleted scenes, an alternate ending, and an excellent and pretty long making-of documentary. It's out on regular DVD as well.

Bumped for sandypants.
We were talking about commentaries in the Brad Pitt thread - I found him quite funny in the Ocean's 11 commentary, and I liked hearing behind the scenes comments from Matt Damon and Andy Garcia.
Because of recommendations, I am going to listen to the Fight Club commentary, and I just ordered Seven from the library as well, to hear those ones.
I just listened to The Bourne Ultimatum's commentary track with the director, Paul Greengrass, and I enjoyed it because he talked about many of the locations, why they shot there, how he tries to balance indie-filmmaking styles with bigger-budget picture styles. He was quite informative.
