The Betty Broderick movies are great!!! Another guilty pleasure of mine is Sin of Innocence, about the step brother and sister who start screwing each other. Sounds gross, but it is actually a good movie. I also love love love that one movie with Patti Duke and Tiffani Amber Theisen - where Theisen's character is murdered by her so called friends and the leader eventually moves in with Patti Duke who played Theisen's mom. And my other favorite is Love, Lies, and Murder - great movie. ..................I am so addicted to Lifetime movies and all those made for TV movies that were all the rage in the late 80's and 90's.

O, ma gosh! I didn't know I was a Lifetime movie person, but I've seen every one of those you listed. Meredith Baxter was in every other based on a true story mini made between about '85 and '95, wasn't she? Hated the Patty Duke one because she just over-acts her ass OFF ( I vaguely recall another one where she played the mother of a grown daugher who'd never told the father about the pregnancy? that sucked, too) and Tiffani Amber blows in everything, but yeah, the incest one was good. Megan Follows was one of the best child/teen actresses ever, imo.

My two favorite sleep over movies growing up were Girls just Want to have Fun and Troop Beverly Hills. My friends and I would watch them all the time.

This is seriously embarrassing – It should probably go in the True Confessions thread. Anyhow, years ago I came across some kind of movie sequel to Gilligan’s Island and found it kind of amusing. It was actually sort of clever. They’re off the island finally and have a hard time adjusting to normal life. Marianne realizes that during her time on the island she idealized her old boyfriend and panics when it turns out he still wants to marry her. The Professor has become a legend of rock-star proportions on campus and has young college girls swooning over him and he can’t handle it ‘cause, you know, he’s the quiet, reserved Professor! Ginger is shocked to realize that Hollywood has changed during her absence and she’s expected to do nude scenes. After spending so much time with normal folk, the Howells realize their old friends are insufferable snobs – There’s a scene where they’re giving a party and the Skipper and Gilligan unexpectedly show up. The Howells are genuinely delighted to see them but their snobby friends are aghast at the sight of these commoners in their midst.
If I remember correctly, they somehow end up stranded back on the island and aren’t particularly displeased by this.
What can I say? I was appalled to find myself enjoying it.

Oh, I've totally seen that, Bonsai! It's Return from Gilligan's Island, and it's pretty amusing. The only disconcerting thing is that they replaced Ginger. I'm pretty sure I watched it because (talking about embarrassing True Confessions) I've always found the professor unsettlingly hot.

No way, the professor was totally a hunk! I used to get mad when he and Mary Anne were just "and the rest."
And I totally remember Return from Gilligan's Island, and remember it fondly even.

Adding my vote to the "Professor is hot!" column -- nothing sexier than a smart, geeky guy in horn-rims, a T-shirt, and a pair of chinos.

I saw that too! And, I also thought the professor was hot. Too bad those girls were stuck on an island with a married man and 3 other men completely uninterested in women. Bet the men had fun though...
Does anyone remember a sequel to Gilligan's island where somehow they have all bought the island and it's a tourist trap, and somehow The Harlem Globetrotters have to play against robots so the island isn't sold? I know I saw this years ago... or maybe I'm just having a drug flashback because that is a seriously odd plot.

According to wikipedia this movie does exist! As does IMDB. Man, I certainly wonder who came up with this movie was smoking something at the time!

That's funny because as soon as I read the above post about the return to Gilligan's Island, my mind flashed to the show about the Harlem Globetrotters. I wonder if the cast pushed for those movies because they couldn't get work as anything but their characters on Gilligan's Island.
