The Georgian costumes in VALMONT were even better than DANGEROUS LIAISONS. They used authentic 18th garb and textiles. Too bad that VALMONT was so darkly lit that you couldnt see it.
I thought the costumes in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE were nothing out of the ordinary

I really loved Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Also the Sabrina movie with Harrison Ford. Every character in that movie seemed to be perfectly suited up for their role. So well done.
Stage Beauty really impressed me, particularly Crudup's wardrobe and make-up. He looked like Holly Hunter! LOL

Movie costume question!
I've heard that when filming Titanic it was decided that the extras would be clothed in period clothing the studio had in its wardrobe from the early 20th century so they wouldn't have to make new pieces. Naturally, when the antique dresses got wet they were all destroyed and they had to get new dresses anyway.
...Anyone know if that's true??

I loved the costumes from Princess Bride, the Matrix, the Cell (I just pretend that I'm not looking at that nasty Lopez when I look at pics), and Pride and Prejudice. Lately, though, my biggest costume obsession was the Slave Leia bikini from Return of the Jedi. There's a website at www.leiasmetalbikini.com that is all bikini, all the time. So awesome, that costume! You can see a pic at my MySpace page, right here. Keep in mind, it's a bikini...it may or may not be work safe ; ).

Titanic just came out in a 3 disc DVD version with many extras and commentaries. You should check it out. If it was true, it would be mentioned somewhere on there I would think

I loved the costumes in the movie "The Wings of the Dove." I am not sure it was too popular a film, but it had Helena Bonham Carter in it. There is a scene at the Venetian carnival and she dresses like a matador. The women wear very detailed Victorian outfits and wonderful hats. I tried to find a picture but couldn't.

I'm re-watching The Fifth Element and I must say I love the Gaultier costumes, the combination of different textures, materials, and colors that expose the body in new and interesting ways. I also like Gaultier's costumes for Almodovar movies (he is the signature designer) especially the crazy outfits of Kika and, in Bad Education, Gael Garcia Bernal's form fitting torch song gown covered in flesh-colored sequins, with pink sequins at the nipples and brown ones at the crotch...

Everytime I see Chris Tucker in that black outfit with the roses, I'm always jarred because that was a runway outfit for the woman's collection. I far prefer JPG's stuff in THE COOK, THE THIEF, etc.

Oh, I was watching Titanic again. I just want to cry, those clothes are so beautiful-and they end up at the bottom of the ocean! Seriously, I want them. I've wanted those dresses since the movie came out. I think I need help.
