Troy, went to see it due to Orlando Bloom, but only came out loving Eric Bana more. Same for me on both counts. Eric Bana stole the entire movie as did Sean Bean and Peter O'Toole.

While many people saw Runaway Bride for Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, for me, the real star was Christopher Meloni, who played Coach Bob. He was fabulous, especially when he punched RG's character, which was the best scene in it, IMO.
Ditto for CM's ex-Oz co-star J.K Simmons in the Spider-Man movies. As J.Jonah Jamison, JKS stole every scene he was in, lock, stock and barrel.

ITA with Door. I went to the movie for Brad Pitt in his long-haired "sexiest man of the year" period and the Louis/Lestat hoyay, but I walked out with an eternal love for Antonio.
Don Cheadle was great scene stealer before he became a leading man, and I'd watch pretty much any movie just for him. I first saw him in Boogie Nights, but he's also great in HBO's The Rat Pack.

Ian McKellen is one of the best Scene Stealers of all time, IMO. He not only stole the show in Scandal, he's excellent in Apt Pupil, Gods and Monsters, the X-Men movies, the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Da Vinci Code.

I nominate Ben Kingsley in Schindler's List. I will never forget one of the last scenes between him and Liam Neeson, when that one tear rolls down his face. God, that just killed me--makes me teary just thinking about it.

Oh god, Ben Kingsley was incredible in Schindler's List. I love that movie, but it's so emotionally harrowing that I haven't been able to watch it in ages.
I know it's really an ensemble movie, but I think that Danny Glover stole every scene he was in as Henry Sherman in The Royal Tenenbaums. His chemistry with Angelica Houston and Gene Hackman were particularly great. For different reasons, obviously.

Hayden Christensen in Shattered Glass. Granted, Peter Sarsgard can act but Christensen was the real surprise. He held his own against Sarsgard, matching him for the intensity in the scenes. Oh, that's funny -- because Shattered Glass was sold to me as proof that the kid from Star Wars could actually act. Instead I walked away with Peter "I FIRED HIM!!!" Sarsgaard as my new favorite actor. I've also gotta nominate Paul Giamatti in The Negotiator -- if he didn't steal the movie from Samuel L. Jackson, he came damn close. "What am I, Charlie Brown?" And Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4 -- sure he was evil, but by the end of the movie I just wanted him to start pwning the entire police force. Because he totally could.

I thought Shirley Maclaine was the scene stealer in Steel Magnolias. Shirley and Olympia Dukakis took over that film. Ouiser and Clairee were amazing characters, prolly because I have family members just like them.

I second Eric Bana stealing Troy from not only Orlando, but Brad too. Everyone I know that went to see it came out wanting more Hector. He really cemented his place as a good actor in that film. I went in for Orli's Paris and Brad's ass, and came out thinking Bana acted circles around them all. The only one to come out of that film with cred, though the Bean and Rose Byrne weren't terrible. Bean didn't have enough screen time for the amount of pretty he brought to the table.

Yes and yes.
Meloni made Bob who should have come off as a sports buff with no real understanding of Julia's character and her needs a caring, likeable guy. She treated him badly and didn't deserve him so I was happy when she got finally got together with the equally self-involved Richard Gere.
I saw Spiderman with my sister who doesn't like action movies/big Hollywood productions and so of course she hated it. Afterwards she said it was a waste of time and money except for that guy who played J.Jonah Jamison. When I told my sister that that guy also played Schillinger on Oz, she nearly had an aneurysm.
