My all-time favorite LOL is from Rosemarys' Baby. Mia Farrow has just been drugged by the Satanic cult via the chocolate 'mouse', and falls on her bony ass while walking down the hallway to bed. I have no idea why, but that cracks my shit up. My brother and I would rewind the VCR tape over and over, just to howl and snark some more. Good times.

I just remembered that I break out in hysterics during The Color Purple when Oprah comes barreling through the field and tells Whoopi "you told Harpo to beat me!!!!!" I don't know why it's so funny to me, it just is Oh, riccaroni, if you only knew how many dirty looks I've gotten from people/family/friends for laughing my ass off at that. "You told Harpo to beat me!!!" Hee. Hee, hee, hee.

I will maintain until my dying day that Brad Pitt's Meet Joe Black death was intentionally funny. Case and point: I saw the movie in the theatre. There was regular theatre noises such as murmurs and candy wrappers. Then, the double car whammy happened. Dead. Silence. After a moment, everyone in the theater started laughing.

The scene where Goeth's pistol doesn't work in Schindler's List. Then he tries one, two other officers' pistols to shoot the old man for not making enough hinges. Then the trainload of Jews walks by in the background and breaks into a run. I've always thought this was supposed to be funny. Not light, not low, but mildly farcical, until Goeth puts the horror mask back on by smacking the guy in the head with his gun.

From a few pages back:
Speaking of Gladiator . . . maybe it's because I'm twelve, but I can't help but snicker every time I think of that slaveowner guy talking to Russell Crowe about "suckling the great whore until we can suckle no more!" (or words to that effect). I mean, it was supposed to be funny, right?! Because it was . . . and, um, inspirational. Made me want to go out and kick some ass.

chiqui, is that the movie where one (or both) of them dies in a car accident at the end? My brother and I caught part of that film late one night and when the accident happened, we were both hysterical. I was crying I was laughing so hard. That is indeed one of the most cringeworthy films I've ever seen.

That was Kris, and he dies in a motorcycle wreck.

I just rewatched a movie called Watcher in the Woods. When they rescue Karen and she takes off her mask, girl looked like a drag queen. I seriously thought it was a boy for a second. Really took away from the triumph of the moment. There were three endings on the DVD, and she seemed to get more masculine with each one I saw. So funny.

I found most of The Shining incredibly funny but a few moments really stood out: the constant ominous "Tuesday Morning", "Wednesday Morning" updates were funny enough but when the ghost twins appeared at the end of the corridor of blood and they were the twins from The Simpsons I totally lost it. We were watching it in a movie theatre on Halloween and when I blurted out "They're from The Simpsons!!" half the place cracked up.
