Bono’s Ukraine poem. Dear lord.... Can Bono not make everything in the world related to himself or Ireland? Experience the cringe!Honestly I think Bono actually thinks Bono is a pain in the arse, he can’t help himself at this point. This latest “poem” he has out Bono’ed himself. I on behalf of a nation can only apologize for Bono and his Bononess!

I can't even click the link because the phrase "Bono's Ukraine poem" alone gives me such powerful cringe already.

Oh god, Amy Schumer, shut up.
Yes, because in between meeting with European heads of state, addressing the US Congress, trying to get NATO support, protecting his country from invaders, and avoiding Russian assassination plots, Zelensky has got time to satellite in to the Oscars. *headdesk* I would take 25 more Bono poems, AnnaLynne McCord monologues, and the entire Marvel and DC stable of actors half-heartedly singing "Imagine" before I want to hear any of Amy's "jokes that kind of highlight the sort of current condition." Maybe Bruce Villanch can write Zelensky some of his lame Oscar jokes! OMG I can't stand celebrities anymore.

You left out one of the dumber parts of Amy's quote, which is "I am not afraid to go there."
I can't muster any enthusiasm for the Oscars this year, having no desire to see almost any of the movies. It did not bode well when they named three hosts, and it boded even worse that one of those three hosts is Amy Schumer.
At best, I think I'm going to record the ceremony and fast forward through it really, really quickly.

So far I've seen The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Being the Ricardos, and The Lost Daughter, and I've got King Richard and Spencer up next in my queue. Not super impressed so far. Of the Best Picture nominees the only one that really interests me is CODA. I haven't watched the ceremony in years but I do typically try to see as many of the movies as I can and this is the first year that it has really seemed like a chore. On topic, has anyone seen Amy's new show "Life & Beth?" It actually looks sort of interesting but I don't have Hulu so...probably won't see it. Not sure how many streaming services I really want to subscribe to.

Not sure about Amy.

Amy Schumer was the Oscar host I was least looking forward to during this ceremony (and the asinine decision to cut out 8 categories that don’t get enough respect?!?), she had to say this.
Just because she’s related to a politician (Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer) and her father’s family is from Ukraine doesn’t mean she needed to do this.
Hell, I haven’t seen CODA*, Drive My Car**, OR The Power of the Dog*** yet! My enthusiasm for this Oscars is rock bottom as this point.
I know it’s a cliché at this point, but the Oscars is the Super Bowl to me, but I’m just indifferent this year.
* I had a maternal grandmother who was deaf, so the movie’s story is important to me on a personal level.
** I LOVE foreign-language (subtitled, not dubbed) movies and Haruki Murakami is one of my favorite writers (thanks, ex-boyfriend!)
*** I LOVE Westerns (thanks Dad, R.I.P.)!
fitz, I don’t blame your nor the good people of the Republic of Ireland, Bono’s an international problem at this point. No need to apologize, dear!

Sean Penn has decided to outdo Amy, saying that if Zelenskyy is not on the Oscars telecast, he will smelt his own Oscars in public. It's mostly gibberish: Yeah, dontcha just hate those "arrogant people who consider themselves representatives of the greater good", Sean? I sure do!

It's only been a few hours since That Slap and already Tiffany Haddish is the front runner for the stupidest take on it. (I'm on Team They Both Should Apologize myself.)
