Despite all the moronic things he's done, I think I hated him most when he was at the Grammys one year and he performed "The real slim shady." It contains the line, "You think I give a damn about a Grammy?" I practically hurt something yelling at the screen, "Well, obviously you do, you little bitch, or else you wouldn't be at the damn ceremony!" What a fake! And he didn't have the spine to leave in the word "Fuck" either.

As for making fun of Michael Jackson, blah. Is there anyone left who hasn't made fun of Michael Jackson? Eminem gets no points from me for that. Especially since Em's target audience of teenagers probably didn't understand the reference about Michael's hair catching on fire. When was that Pepsi commercial filmed anyway-1985?

Eminem is just going to tiredly rehash the same old material: "Look at who I can make fun of this time!" or "look at how he tackles this issue".

I'll admit, I do like the song "Lose Yourself", but everything outside of that is just gross, vulgar, boring, unfunny, indicative of the fact that he's so friggin' insecure. Check one or more.

Well, I hate to crash the party, but I like him. This is not to say that I think he's the most awesome human being ever, or anything like that -- I agree that he could use a sense of humor about himself (since he likes to dish it out but can't take it himself), and I think he's often immature and bratty. I also find many of his lyrics to be offensive. I still like him, though. The Marshall Mathers LP is, IMO, a brilliant album. It's unfortunate that everything he's done since then hasn't been able to reach the bar set by that album (his last album was especially bad). I also tend to think that he comes across fairly well in interviews (I haven't read or seen every interview he's done, obviously)...he seems to be somewhat articulate and down to earth, which is more than I can say for some of his peers. I think it's interesting that he is so "controversial" when he hasn't really said anything new...mainstream rap has always had its share of violent/misogynistic/homophobic lyrics. "Kim" and "Just the Two of Us" are pretty horrific, I'll admit, but I think it's unfair to single him out for attack. I know he revels in it, though. *shrugs* I don't love him, but I like him well enough.

I have a like/hate relationship with him. As someone who works in print journalism, I am a big supporter of people who speak up about free speech.

That said, I don't always like what he has to say-- sometimes I find him thought-provoking (I love 'White America' and I thought 'Stan' was decent until that cheesy last verse) and other times he's a 9 year old boy (eww! Gay germs! Let's talk shit about women! Haha! Fart! ...Butt!).

Also, listening to 'Kim' seriously makes me queasy-- the first time I heard that song was when a college classmate was giving a speech about her abusive/stalker boyfriend and women-bashing rap in the media.

I don't think he should be censored or banned, but I don't think he should be celebrated, either.

"Exhaustion" is, of course, the normal code word drug abuse problems. I guess his retirement is starting early.

Eminem Cancels European Tour Due To Exhaustion

Citing exhaustion complicated by other medical issues, Eminem has canceled his European tour dates.

The shows are not expected to be rescheduled, according to a statement released by his record label late Tuesday (August 16).

Eminem was due to headline the European leg of the Anger Management 3 tour, which begins September 1 in Hamburg, Germany, and wraps up September 17 in Meath, Ireland.

The rapper's spokesperson had no more information on Em's medical status or whether the tour would continue on with 50 Cent as headliner. 50 and G-Unit headlined some concerts this summer on off nights from Anger Management (see "50 Cent To Keep Rapping On Anger Management's Off Days").

In an interview backstage at a recent tour stop, Eminem said he put a lot of effort into planning the tour (see "Eminem: 'I'm Not Retiring' "). "We spent a lot of money, we really anteed up the stakes this time," he said. "We know that people are coming to not just see us get onstage and rap, they're coming to see a show."

It's been a bit of a rough ride, however, for the third installment of Anger Management. A tour bus crashed during the first week and seriously injured Eminem's DJ (see "Anger Management Tour Bus Crashes; Stat Quo, Eminem's DJ Among Those Injured"). And last week, Young Buck and Lloyd Banks were arrested for gun possession after a New York show (see "Young Buck, Lloyd Banks Arrested For Gun Possession").
