But it doesn't seem like she tries to distance herself from the Mathers name, since she referenced "Marshall and Kim Mathers" as her parents. I'm sure everyone knows Eminem is her dad. All it would take was one kid finding out for the whole school to know. Plus, Eminem is kind of past his prime these days anyway, especially when it comes to her peers. They would have been very young when he was big. It was probably more of a factor when she was younger and there was more of a concern that "over enthusiastic" fans would try to track her down. I imagine its not that big of a deal these days but since she is used to going by the last name Scott, she sticks with it.

Also I remember hearing that Eminem's niece that he adopted has the Mathers surname, so it's interesting that she would have it and not Hailie.

Good luck to you in college, Hailie! (P.S. If Terry Richardson were ever to come to your campus and try to get him to pose for you [see Scout Willis], please say no!)

Aw...Good Job, Marshall and Kim.
Did anyone else the Onion headline about Eminem Terrified Daughter Dating Young Man Influenced by His Music? I snorted.

I'm curious as to what Hailie thinks of her father's older songs, pertaining to all sorts of gory and violent scenarios involving her mother. In Marshall's new song, "Headlights", he raps about being remorseful about songs regarding his own mother, particularly "Cleaning Out My Closet", even saying he no longer performs that song and him cringing when he hears it now. I wonder if it's the same regarding the songs about Kim, and he's explained to Hailie that it was his angry, childish self talking in those songs. Still, I wonder if it's weird or hard to hear songs that glorified and called for her mom's death.
At any rate, Marshall and Kim have a bright, seemingly well-adjusted daughter, and I'm happy for all of them.

Eminem with Sia - Beautiful PainLove it! I don't know if these lines were meant to be about his grieving process in the years since Proof was killed, but that's what they made me think of.

I thought Eminem had turned 50 a couple of years ago.
