She continues: "but the responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them."

"While I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or color of their skin, that’s not really the point," Michele's statement continues. "What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people."

"Whether it was my privileged position and perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or whether it was just my immaturity and me just being unnecessarily difficult, I apologize for my behavior and for any pain which I have caused. We all can grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect on my own shortcomings."

"I'm not a racist, I just act like one" is that what she's saying here? "Sorry if you interpreted my bitchiness as racism, I'm just an all around shitty person to everyone . . . equally." Her statement is confusing, but at least she acknowledged her behavior hurt people?

I love how she implies she has changed over "the past several months" which just about covers the time she has been visibly pregnant and not working. Just in case somebody comes forward from a recent project with a complaint. But she changed in March!

It’s a bullshit apology - she’s not really apologizing, she’s going the “sorry for those who I offended” route. How else is someone to “perceive” Lea threatening to shit in her wig?

I have no doubt shes truly awful to everyone and so individual incidents likely don’t stick out to her hence she can front like she doesn’t remember.

Oh and gotta love her dropping the, I’m gonna be a mom soon!!!! In at the end. Nothing like a celeb pimping out their kid to try and change the narrative and get some good PR.

Anyway I have to admit that while I pretty much always assumed Lea was unpleasant to work with, I thought/hoped it was in a 'bratty theater kid who got the tiniest taste of mainstream stardom' kind of way rather than an 'actively, shittily racist' kind of way. Ugh.

I read the apology again and she uses the word “perceived” a bunch of times. Like it wasn’t that she was being shitty and mean, people were just perceiving her that way.
