"Financier" = money hungry social climber. But it's better than circus performer, or whoever that bozo was that Princess Stephanie married. From the People article: That is such a weird and wrong thing to say I don't even know where to start. Its phrased wrongly, is the problem. What they're saying is simply that the husband of a Reigning Queen isn't a king-Prince Philip, Prince Heinrik and the Late Prince Claus weren't/aren't King. So they're saying that on the very rare chance Madeleine becomes Queen (she's fourth in line right now) he wouldn't be King but Prince/Prince Consort, but that their kids would be in line.

They just made it sound like the normal royal procedure would be to marry one's brother or something, which still doesn't have anything to do with why he'd never become king.

Hey, it worked for the Pharoahs--oh, wait, no it didn't. Never mind!

She's really pretty. That's all I really have to add to this thread.

I guess Valantino flew in with the Glucksburg's on their private jet, so it sounds like he did the dress.

I love the continental royal weddings more than the British. The focus isn't on all that Windsor baggage and drama. You can watch a live stream here. Wedding starts at 4 pm Sweden time. (10 am east coast of USA.) Red-carpet pre-show hosted by E! starts at 3:00 or 3:30. Thoughts: Princess Charlene is like a cold, sad wind blowing down the red carpet. Even by herself she really does carry horrible vibes around with her. I hope she ends the fiasco soon. The dress: Valentino can be relied upon for a tasteful, pretty, and unexciting dress. I do love the tiara and veil. The Queen's tiara that Victoria had to wear is not particularly pretty. I like diamonds.

Thank you so much for the link! I had forgotten about it. The dress is gorgeous!

She's got to make a date with the royal turkey baster, first. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already.
I agree about the dress - it's nice but seems pretty ordinary considering that this is a royal wedding. It'll stand the test of time, though. She won't have any Diana moments looking back at her wedding pictures.

Dress is indeed pretty and unexciting. Timeless, though, like Kate's dress. They are certainly a good-looking couple. They could make some beautiful babies.
