EXHAUSTING is a good word to express how I feel about this show right now. I'm going to stick with it because I've made it this far, and there's not much else I'm watching at this time, but I can't say I'm enjoying it. Makes zero sense that they wouldn't just shoot Negan, ZERO!!! And I absolutely hate how serious this show takes itself, the artistic shots, the messed up timeline, the over zealous after show. I can't even say that there are any characters I particularly care about, I'd be fine with any of them going really, including Daryl and I used to LOVE Daryl. This whole story line has dragged on going on three seasons, and I'm done with it. I would really like to see some plan, some progress, some drive to figure out how the human race is going to survive. I'd even settle for a discussion where they show they've learned something from their experiences, like "Hey, it really seemed to work finding a gated community and fortifying it." Or, "Hey, it really worked taking over a prison, let's think of other places like that." On the one hand they stress that any situation is tenuous, and they are living day by day. But then you have idiots like Glen and Maggie who willingly decide that this is a GREAT time to have a baby! The writing on this show is just so lazy.

Do Walkers usually walk towards fire and explosions? I would think that would drive them away. (Of course, I'm remembering old school Night of the Living Dead when Ben lit a chair on fire to chase the zombies back, not any particular incident on Walking Dead that would tell me how these zombies react to fire one way or the other) Speaking of NotLD, the In Memorium card at the end to George Romero got me misty eyed. There was another name before his, but I didn't catch it without watching the end credits again. I've been thinking the same thing since last season. She's not showing at all. Are we still sure she is pregnant? One of the doctors no dead or captured maybe ought to give her a check up. On TWD, walkers are attracted to loud noises and bright lights. The other In Memorium was for a stuntman who died in an accident during production in July.

One does want to stay trim and fashionable while leading the zombie apocalypse, doesn't one? /SexistEgotisticalLyingHypocriticalBigot

So now Jesus is pulling the mercy bullshit even after almost getting killed? The whole "we aren't like that" is so tiresome. Yeah, you are not, which is why you have to kill all of these assholes that steal and kill from everyone to prevent it from happening again. Tara is right though, Rick will want to kill them. If they let these characters that can kill very well just kill like Carol, Morgan, etc the Saviors would be done. But of course then who would be the villain? So exhausting.
I hope Shiva survives next week since it looks like Ezechiel and Carol's group are going to be surrounded.

I think Shiva is my favorite character now, she doesn’t need to over analyze and agonize about killing Saviors. She just gets shit done.

I love Shiva, but her presence makes me nervous. I can totally see Negan deciding he needs a tiger skin rug in his den and convincing his dumbass followers to make it happen. (Unless Father Gabriel kills him off nice and quick, which would be handy)
I'm as over "King" Ezekiel's act as Carol is. Is it REALLY his Middle Earth style speechifying that's rallying his troops or the fact his has a handy tiger and a big body guard who's good with an axe? Can he just say "Go Team!" and get the same results? When the Kingdom was isolated and building their community, I can see his act served a purpose. But at this point, it makes his followers seem dumb if they still need him to recite King Lear every five seconds to keep them motivated. Would they really lose all will to survive if he dropped the act? They might have caught up to the guy they were chasing faster if he'd just said "Get him!" instead of "Post haste to obtain our quarry, anon! Victory is ours by the light of dawn and we shall sup in delight and taste the sweet wine of his defeat, huzzah... etc. etc." It all just makes me wish they'd cut to Darryl grunting two words at a time and blowing sh*t up.

(Unless Father Gabriel kills him off nice and quick, which would be handy) I'm nervous for Shiva too. I thought she was a goner this episode when Ezekiel told someone to release her from her cage. As for Father Gabriel, I guess I didn't watch the episode closely enough last week because I caught the tail end of last week's episode last night and realized that that he has a machine gun hanging around his neck. So either the Gods of Contrivance will decree that he's out of bullets or he'll have another crisis of conscience (which...too late, you were already in the middle of the siege firing away) to explain how he doesn't just blow Negan away in that room. Because we know it's not going to happen that easily, but it should since, to paraphrase a classic, Negan brought a bat to a gunfight. It didn't make any sense to me. If they weren't going to kill the people, what were they going to do with them? Drag them back to their settlements and have them work there and until they revolt and kill everyone from within? It seems like that basic premise would have been worked out somewhere in the meticulous planning of this attack, so who's right, Tara or Jesus? Agreed that the attack of conscience trope is beyond tired. Let me guess, this guy they let go is going to rise back up and take one of them out, ala Dwight and how many others who were let go only to come back raging. I did find the baby portion of the show genuinely upsetting. If that guy was truly only defending his baby and Rick killed him for it, that was kind of a gut punch. Then again, he was there and part of the Savior group, so I guess he was a marked man either way. I'm having trouble following the different groups with regard to what they're specifically doing and what the endgame really is.

They are really making constant shooting and "war" incredibly boring.

The zombies rolling down the hill was the best part. WHEEEEE! And they looked super rotty.
Ahh Eric. We hardly knew ye. No seriously, we hardly knew ye. And Morales. I have no memory of him at all. How's your family, Morales?... WHO'S your family, Morales! So that was a giant bunch of nothing.
Is Negan still trapped in the trailer with Father Gabriel? Wouldn't it be funny if it gets to the end of the season and everything is winding down, except Rick is saying 'It's not over yet! I still have to kill Negan!' And then Father Gabriel strolls up and says 'Oh. Negan. Right. I killed him weeks ago. Did I forget to mention that? I guess I did. Sorry, I should have mentioned that... but I'm still kinda douchy. My bad!"

And everything in the meantime is going to be little pieces of the stories of every other group. Does anyone understand exactly what Jesus is thinking with his makeshift internment camp for those Saviors? I can kind of get his concern about being executioners, but what does he think will happen after the big battle is over? A catch and release program where he lets them go and they just scatter without seeking retribution? It just makes no sense at this point in the story. Especially when it includes that unrepentant jerk that Morgan wants to kill. He is definitely not going to go quietly.
