Anybody watching? The show's been a total guilty pleasure for me.
I'm surprised at who my favorite Liars are turning out to be. Initially, Spencer and Hanna were my least favorites because their storylines totally bored me. But now I love them, although this week Hanna lost a lot of ground when she turned out to be a Justin Bieber fan. And the actress who plays Spencer is great; she consistently gets some of the show's best lines: "I will destroy her!" and "Yesterday you were ready to give me tongue for those tickets!" Okay, the lines don't sound funny written out, but IMO what makes them so great is the way the actress delivers them.
However, Aria is useless and her relationship with Fitz is pathetic. Unfortunately, it looks like the showrunner has designated them as soulmates. And the mystery isn't that compelling - I think I'll be disappointed with the eventual A reveal when it finally comes.

I watch it too, but I can't with the Aria/Ezra relationship. The show's creator looooves them though, so we are stuck with them. And yeah, Team Spencer and Hannah!

I don't like the Aria/Ezra relationship either. My daughter is 17 and is totally squicked out by the idea of a high school student having an affair with her teacher. It doesn't matter that they are reasonably close in age and have got a case of the twu luvs. The idea of a teacher banging a student is always gross and *uptight parent alert* I'm not crazy about the message it's sending.
ABC Family was doing some kind of promotional thing for JB so I figured that line was added in as part of the promotion of him. It came off as clunky and didn't fit the character or the show. Justin Bieber ruins everything!
I'm loving the mystery. The last scene where leather glove hand and extra old Mrs. Garrett were in cahoots together was cheesy fun. But I agree that the reveal will likely be disappointing. I can't imagine all the pieces of the puzzle coming together. There are too many things 'A' knows that no one else could.

Heh. I think the mystery would be a lot more compelling for me if it seemed more tightly written. But I can't help but think, "Wow, there is absolutely NO way they're going to pull off a plausible reveal [because A seems like a literally omnipresent, omniscient god at this point]," which takes off a lot of the mystery's shine. I can only get into a mystery if there is reasonable promise of a satisfying payoff.

The story is based on a book series. I wonder if the TV series has veered off from the books or if the mystery in the books didn't make much sense either.

The story is based on a book series. I wonder if the TV series has veered off from the books or if the mystery in the books didn't make much sense either. I've only read Wiki articles on the book but it veered a little off course. The book didn't have Hanna thinking it was that kid and it not turning out to be him, something else happened. Also the last book that revealed A's identity came out after the series started filming but the author keeps doing cameos, so I guess she must be somewhat involved in the storylines put out by the show.

I love this show! Hanna is my favorite, she is so funny and sincere. Aria and Ezra would be more interesting if they did anything other than talk about their relationship. Spencer is pretty awesome, I like her relationship with Melissa. Emily is completely boring to me. I'd love to see more Alison.

Count me in on not liking the teacher/student "romance". I'm generally not much of a pearl-clutcher, but I find the whole thing incredibly gross and inappropriate. It doesn't matter if Ezra is only supposed to be in his early 20s and the age gap isn't that great. He's her teacher. Any male teacher caught carrying on a relationship with one of his 16-year old students would be labeled a pedophile in real life. I can sort of sympathize with Aria's character, since a lot of teenage girls would crush on a cute young teacher, but it makes me hate the Ezra character.

hikertrash, you just don't appreciate the epic love story that is Aria and Ezra!
I'm just glad that Spencer seems to be spearheading the investigation. If Aria were in charge, she'd be too busy obsessing over A meddling in her relationship with Ezra.

I'm finally caught up on this show! Okay, how stupid is Aria? She walks into a class where Ezra is giving a test, then shows him her tickets to the art show and the questions written down and the two of them could barely keep it together. The people in this school must be oblivious to miss these signs!
And poor Hanna. She's got no choice but to listen to A, but why didn't she tell Aria first that A was blackmailing her, then tell her with what info? It might have gone over better. Also, when Hanna and Aria thought they found A's stash, Aria seemed like she didn't even care. It could have solved everything and she was all' Eh, leave it."
Spencer continues to be awesome. I love her scenes with Melissa.
