I think you might be right but that hasn't been revealed yet. He's just been generally weird so far.

OMG I'M SO CONFUSED at the last 2-3 minutes.
Is it possible that Toby's just wearing a creepy black hoodie to let Mona in/out for some random reason?? I'm actually so surprised/upset at this new A revelation!!
OK also, why didn't Emily leave when the voice on the phone told her to?! And Nate/Lyndon wanted to kill Paige right then and there, so Emily bolts for the door and goes up a lighthouse to get cell reception? LOL Poor Paige.
Are they going to have that one random Halloween episode again and continue the rest of the season next year?

I think that I am way too old to be so into this show, but it totally sucks you in. My jaw dropped when Toby was revealed to be A (or one of the As).

Yeah, I thought Toby and Spencer were fan favorites. I wanted it to be Ezra, but I guess Toby being the bad guy (again) would create more conflict for the girls and keep things more interesting.

They kinda zoomed in on Toby making a creeper face about halfway through the episode (when he and Spencer were saying goodbye), so I thought something was up with him. I don't care if Paige is innocent this time, I still think she's got the crazies in her.

It's kind of funny actually, that all these people that Allison mentally tortured turned out to be nutcases. Lucas, Toby, Jenna, Mona. Does anyone remember this scene where A messed with the scaffolding that Toby was using to paint or fix something? Did anything ever come of that? I wish I could watch all the episodes to see if Toby being A is consistent.

Im looking for some advice, and hope this isnt too OT.
My 22yo daughter loves PLL, and I was thinking of buying her some of the books.
Im wondering if anyone has read the books and whether they would recommend them.
I know the TV series is aimed at teens but easily attracts an older audience - does anyone think this is the same for the books?
TIA!

I haven't read them, but this article does a good job of explaining the differences between the books and the show. The most striking difference is that Toby dies fairly soon in the books, which would leave him out of the "A" shenanigans. And if your daughter is a fan of the Ezra/Aria relationship, that's something that would be sorely missed. To me, it sounds like there are enough differences to make the books an interesting read despite having seen the show. As far as an older audience, there seems to be plenty of adult themes to go around in the books. The book series is up to 12 with the newest one being released later this year. After reading up on this I think I might just get the books for myself...and my daughter could borrow them.

Thanks so much highondegrassi for taking the time to give such detailed info From what youve said, I think she'd be into the books - thanks again...
