The “Mayhem” Allstate ads where he is a cat in one and a dog (with Tina Fey!) in another never get old! I haven't seen the dog commercial yet, but the cat commercial is now tied for second with the raccoon commercial. Nothing will ever top the GPS commercial for me. RECALCULATING!!!!!! |

This isn't a commercial on TV, rather an ad I've seen about 573 times on You Tube and it's driving me nuts. It's for Nordstrom's and the woman is bemoaning how she looked in her closet and had "nothing to wear" and then says "but this dress, as my daughter would say, is everything." Cut to a seamstress pining the dress and she says "I just brought up the hem--you did all the rest."
What exactly did she do? Pull out her credit card and buy it? It makes it sound like somehow she willed this dress into existence and it looks stunning on her. IDK, maybe it's because of the sheer number of times I've seen it, but, man, it's irritating.

My tv provider Sky have a Christmas ad,,they decided to pull on my ET loving( I had a big ET thing way back toys, duvets etc) heartstrings and it worked, there is an extended and a making of I think that I know I will bawl at. This broke me a little Reconnect for ChristmasThe extended version Oh my God the feels I have them it’ be very dusty in here. |

Anybody else side-eyeing the Celebrity Cruise line ad set to Jefferson Airplane's Go Ask Alice? I mean, for those who connected with that song in the '60s, congratulations on surviving this long, but seriously? Are they getting Grace Slick to entertain on the Lido deck every night? Are there "surprises" on the captain's buffet dessert table? Do they have to double- or triple-up on lifeguards in case someone has a flashback in the pool? Will cruise line staff take care of the customs officers at various ports of call, or are cruise guests responsible for their own illicit purchases?
So. Many. Questions...

Def. side-eyeing that commercial. Also very curious about of all the lyrics to remove, they took out “go ask Alice”. Rest of it is ok, then. Hm.

It kind of reminds me of when Royal Caribbean used Iggy Pop's Lust for Life in one of their commercials years ago. It was a song about drug addiction that was featured prominently in a movie about drug addiction, there was no way they didn't know that. It was mind-boggling.
