I think they are going to need to retire Duke of York for a few generations due to the disgrace.
I think Louis is going to get Duke of Edinburgh (unless Charles gives it to Edward, as has been speculated).

I hope Edward does get Duke of Edinburgh. It would be a really nice nod to how he and Sophie have been rocks and I really liked Sophie’s genuine manner when speaking about how the Queen is coping after Philip’s death. Especially given is clearly sour (rightly so) relations with Andrew and Harry, it would also be good from an optics pov to emphasise that the rest of the family apart from with those two who are out, are tight. How is Charles relationship with Edward generally? I think he’s also been genuinely close to Anne, and way before Andrew’s Epstein shit has shared a mutual dislike with Andrew (of Crown depictions are accurate for both), but never seen anything much vis a vis his dynamic with Edward and Sophie. It seems that they’re his “type” of people though?

I think Charles and Edward get along pretty well at this point. So he's likely to get DoE. I feel like the York title needs to be mothballed for a while, just like the Duchy of Windsor isn't going to be reused any time soon.

Can they retire The York title tho, I’m likely harking back to something fictional in a film or the song Grand Old Duke York or something not based on fact, but doesn’t it hold more weight or significance within Royal rank more than other dukedoms. Always reserved for the second son of the Monarch unless it’s carried thru sons of sons of a second son. Say there had been no Andrew or Edward it would have gone to Harry. As no York sons it’s available again when Andrew goes. The Queens father was the last Duke of York before all the abdication business and he was second in line.

Yes I think I remember something about that in the White Queen. Maybe because York was so significant in the War of the Roses. I imagine it will temporarily be retired when Andrew dies in that Harry as the next second son won’t get it, but down the line Louis will.

I'd like to see Charlotte get it as Duchess of York in her own right. Since their generation starts the end of "boys first, then we'll get around to the girls" business in the line of succession, the Duchy of York could go to the second child, rather than the second son.

Would Charlotte be eligible for the Princess Royal title eventually?

Would Charlotte be eligible for the Princess Royal title eventually? Yes, eventually. From Wiki: The conditions would be that William is king, he elects to give the title to Charlotte, and that there is no living current Princess Royale.

Based on nothing at all, I can totally imagine those dogs ending up with pancreatitis as Fergie feeds them a range of gourmet human food. Pâté, smoked salmon ... whatever is on her table!
