I know, what are we in for - Randy constantly agreeing with Mariah and calling her his girl/dude/dog/etc.?
TMZ is going with the story that Mariah and Nicki are already fighting - boring. They're already trying to set the narrative of two divas battling it out. Can someone please just sing, and someone tell them when they can't?

That judging panel is horrifying. Mariah and Randy Jackson on the same panel? Ugh. Definitely skipping AI this season. I love Mariah, but the judging panel sounds absolutely dreadful. The train wreck won't be on stage during the auditions, it will be at the table this year. |

The clothing, hair and makeup budget is going to be astronomical these season with Mariah and Minaj on the show.

I got to hand it to Nigel, he sure know how to get people talking about Idol. It was a stroke of genius to leak that (staged?) one-sided Nicki/Mariah fight, this is the most buzz this joke of a show has had in years.

I'm appalled at Nicki's potty mouth. I don't watch the show but it's way too early for them to be threatening to duke it out. And I also don't think anyone should assume Mariah can't hold her own--she's lasted this long in the business, she would snatch NM's wig in a hot second.

And so it returns for the 12th season. The fact that this is on Page 3 when most of America has had the chance to see the premiere episode is a testament to how irrelevant this show has become. BUT, you can't turn on the radio for 5 minutes without hearing one of the previous American Idol finalists.
I didn't watch much of last season, and I'll pretty much do the same here, checking in during commercial time for The Middle, Survivor and Ghost Hunters. Any one else still into this?

I didn't think the premiere was that bad. Nicki was not as annoying as I thought she'd be, though the "fights" between her and Mariah are gonna get old fast. On a purely shallow note, Mariah looks great. Keith is nice, about like I figure he'd be. And Randy is... Randy. I like that they're not putting, like, EVERYONE who can half-assed carry a tune through this year.

OMG, the guy with the stutter (Lazaro?) gave me goosebumps. Usually I roll my eyes at the sob stories, but I was tearing up over his. His voice is beautiful!

Sooo... looks like I am triple posting! Guess I'm the only one watching? I have actually been pleasantly surprised with this season so far. I REALLY like Nicki as a judge now. She's funny and usually has constructive comments on the singing. I enjoyed tonight's auditions in Baton Rouge. There were some real standouts for me: the nerdy kid who sang Queen (Charlie?), Paul Jolly, the beauty queen on crutches, the singing doctor. Oh and the fireman whose looks didn't hurt either... I feel like they have cut down on the bad singers/joke auditions a lot this season.

I missed the first couple but saw episode 3 in whatever Carolina it was. I really like Keith and Nikki as judges. Mariah is annoying dead weight and seems to be confused by a lot of things including black women in rock bands. Randy is his usual boring self.
