I'm not a fan of the previous entries but this latest one was just awesome. The climactic final scenes were incredible! I'd love to know how they filmed these crazy car chase/collision scenes.

Me too! I hope they don't skimp on the dvd, this may be the first in the series I buy.

You could not have been 1/2 as sad as those unfortunate enough to have had to sit through that particular part of this franchise. I liked the new one OK. Rio looked pretty nice - even the slum parts - and you have to realize that all physics and realization pretty much goes out the door when these guys start to rev up the engines.

I enjoyed Tokyo Drift, but then again I'm a bit of a Japanophile.
I was thoroughly amused though that many of the main Asian actors were Korean. I first chalked it up to the producers thinking the audience wouldn't know any better, but I think I read somewhere that many of the Yakuza are/were ethnic Koreans- which is probably putting way too much thought into a F&F movie.
This most recent one was one of the best, I have to agree.

I just remember hearing that Justin Lin really wanted an Asian lead for the Tokyo Drift movie, but the studio honchos refused and so he just shoehorned in Han. IIRC, Han's character was originally intended to be black. But this is all gossip I read on another site, so take it with a grain of salt.
LOL. True, true. Still haven't seen the third one, I only know what happened because of wikipedia.

It's so weird that I also have not seen Part 3 (other than the first few minutes) but have seen 1, 2, 4, and 5. Even stranger, Part 3 is the only one I own (I got it for free)!

I think I've seen all of the F&F movies in the theater. I even saw a couple of those bad knockoffs in the theater- namely Driven, made during a Stallone career lull and which is now even funnier in light of that Adam Carolla link from above, and Redline starring Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe from "Days of Our Lives") and Eddie Griffin. I have yet to see Torque.

Watched Fast Five again last night and still love it: made me want to watch the first movie again! To me, a large part of what makes the story better than it really should be is the chemistry between Paul Walker and Vin Diesel: that stuff just effortlessly works so well. Of course, I also have a real weak spot for Vin Diesel. Even in his most ridiculous roles, I just can't totally resist that voice and those muscly arms. And that whole car chase with the safe has to be one of the most OTT and ridiculous chase scenes ever (the physics of that...), but it's glorious anyway.

Just watched Fast Five again. So good. The fight between Rock & Vin made me tingly. All that testosterone. Yum. I loved everyone, except Jordana Brewster. Just can't warm up to her, but the rest of the crew is stellar. They've got to retcon Han's death. He was so good in this one. Bring him back for 6 and 7, which have been greenlit[/color].
