I am watching, too. I've heard Usher's music, of course, but I don't remember ever seeing him just be himself (in an interview, or whatever). Um... I think I am creeping out HGTV with my newfound super-duper, HELLA crush on the dude. Whoa! Usher is Teh Sex.
That's pretty much all I got so far...

I ff through the personal stuff too. And it looks like they're really ramping it up this year - they all seemed to have dying children and band members!
I don't miss the weird, awkward coldness of Cee Lo or Christina at all. It'll be interesting to see what happens if they want to come back.

I like Usher and Shakira a lot, too. The both seem much warmer than Christina. I like the rapport among the four judges better now. I miss Cee Lo's weirdness a little, but other than that, I'm happy with the new judges. I still adore Adam. He used to skeeve me out before I watched the show, but I love him now. His show-related tweets always crack me up, too. None of the contestants so far have blown me away, but I'm enjoying this season. I did like Midas Whale.

Adam used to put me off... he seemed a bit sleezy to me. But I see him now as a friendly guy who just comes off that way when you first consider him. Come to think of it, Usher always put me off too, but I'm getting a different opinion of him now, seeing him outside of performing.
The Voice - changing public opinions one lightweight horndog at a time.

I really liked Christian Porter who sang I'm sexy and I know it. His voice was sexy. I like his style.

I occasionally tune in and end up quickly getting annoyed and turning the channel. It seems like no matter how badly a song is performed, the judges are always super nice and avoid any criticism, not even a little bit. Is it always like this? The other night a guy destroyed Starlight (and not in a good way) and received praise all around. Adam said "there were a couple of things" but didn't elaborate to avoid saying anything negative apparently. So much for constructive criticism. Then last night the one with the giant glasses showcased her limited range and all the judges said she was amazing. Is something wrong with my hearing?? And I didn't like the way Adam said he likes her and then Usher was like "a guy like Adam likes you." What does that have to do with her performance? I feel like I'm watching a self-esteem workshop instead of a singing competition. I'm biased in that I'm a Christina Aguilera fan and I know she's unpopular, but at least she made an effort to tell it like it is and offered up advice on how to improve. I think she and Cee-Lo made the show more interesting with their diva ways and awkward moments.

I was just coming here to post about that. I haven't watched since the Xtina versus Adam, ex-Mousketeer drama.
I watched my first episode last night, and it was just so annoying. Most of the singers were just okay, and some were downright terrible, and yet everyone was lavished with compliments. Whatever. I don't need the singers to be berated, but how about some real criticism?
I blame Roma Downey for this nonsense.

Yeah, I do think they are way too soft with their assessments. Usher probably keeps it real the most out of everyone. But it doesn't bother me, for some reason. I think there are a couple of legit good singers, though. Namely, Sarah Simmons and Judith Hill. The rest are kind of meh.

But, but ... there's Adam Levine in a cute little boy's polo shirt! I kind of love him.
I guess Christina is signed for next season. I'm not so thrilled. She can be bitchy and critical, but only about the singers NOT on her team. Oh well, here's hoping she gets out the makeup gun set to "circus clown" and the tight clothes!
CeeLo is apparently also close to signing. Blah. I really thought Usher was a much better (and cuter) presence. Maybe Usher didn't want to come back, because I can't imagine they'd want to lose him. The rating are great.
I always enjoy the first part of the show better. The blind, battle, and knockout rounds are still the best. They should always have the singers go up against each other because it makes them so much better.
I would suspect that Judith has this one in the bag, right? It's funny to see the other dopes murder (bad word choice there!) Michael Jackson songs, when it's JUDITH who has all the background there. But I'm sure she wants to be done with that part of her life and become her own artist.

Oh well, here's hoping she gets out the makeup gun set to "circus clown" and the tight clothes! Yeah, I think constructive criticism is great, but Christina only ever criticized members of the other coaches' teams. I wish we could keep Usher and Shakira -- I've liked the vibe with them much better. I understand that Shakira is a new mom, though, and wants to spend time with her baby. I like Usher's coaching style, and he seems to take the role of coach/mentor really seriously. And yeah, I can't imagine the show wants to lose him. Nothing against Cee-Lo -- I just like Usher a lot. I don't know about Judith taking it all. Does she deserve it? Hell yeah. She's amazing. But last year we had Amanda Brown, who I thought was amazing and totally had the talent to win, and we got ... Cassadee (whose watered-down pop/country lite sound couldn't compare with Amanda's powerhouse rocker vibe, IMO). I like Judith and Sarah Simmons (gorgeous voice, if you ask me), along with Michelle Chamuel (not sure I'm spelling that right, but what can I say, I always like the more offbeat singers). None of the guys have impressed me much.
