Did anyone else watch the premiere last night? I am normally anti-talent shows on TV (they're usually so mean!) but this one was great. I loved the "blind audition" premise. I am SURE some people got in that would not have otherwise, which is awesome. And there were some legit amazing singers auditioning. Javier Colon, I am looking at you. How is that guy not hugely successful, rich and famous yet??

Awesome, loved it, flawless. I LOVED Javier Colon, Taralyn Ramsey, Beverly McCallen (fierce!), Vicci Martinez, Frenchie and Rebecca Loebe are my faves so far. Beverly is the most charismatic one though, she killed her performance. Amazing voice.

Oh yeah, Beverly! She was AMAZING! ABC* is re-airing the premiere tonight for anyone that missed it (and I might watch it again!).

I missed the first hour and also didn't catch javier's performance. I enjoyed it, though. I'm not a huge fan of the volume of the audience's cheers being turned up like they do on the British Simon Cowell talent show (I forget what it's called). I find that part distracting.

Loved it. I tuned in for Christina, but ended up really enjoying all the judges and the talent. I hate AI with a passion, especially those first few weeks of awful singers and made up drama. This show was a breath of fresh air.

It was also a bonafide hit.

NBC’s high-profile attempt to cash in on the singing craze was a success on Tuesday. Airing against stiff competition (a two-hour Dancing with the Stars! A special 90-minute episode of Glee!), The Voice was the No. 1 show of the night in the all-important 18-49 demographic.

The show pulled a 5.1 rating/13 share in the demo and 11.8 million viewers, according to early estimates. NBC says that it was the top-rated series premiere on a major network since Undercover Boss debuted following the Super Bowl on Feb. 7, 2010.

Head to head, The Voice beat Glee (4.6 versus 3.4 from 9-9:30) and Dancing with the Stars (4.9 versus 3.5 from 9-10). It improved the time period versus NBC’s season average by 89% (5.1 versus 2.7).

I think with the age limit going out the window (at least I think it is) than the way AI runs things and with judges that have actual talent, it makes things much more enjoyable.

I didn't get to watch last night, but I'll tune in for the encore tonight. I'm glad that it's getting positive reviews!

Loved it. Thank you Netherlands. What a concept: Judges who are actually talented and there to help the singers and not just tear them down constantly. Go figure.

I also laughed every time a singer had to reject one or more the judges... What a trip that must be for the contestants. "Nah, Christina, I don't think you're right for me..." Hah.

Oh, tonight's show is a repeat? Good, because there's too much on TV at 9 p.m. tonight.

I hear they're also repeating it on the E! Channel this weekend.

My faves were Javier, the girl who lived in her car who sang "Come As You Are," and the cute country crooner who makes AI's Scotty McCreery look like a reject from Nashville Star.
