I have a viscerally negative reaction to her name. Rooney Mara just sounds terrible to me. Rooney. I wouldn't name a dog Rooney. Maybe a hamster, though. I keep wanting to think of her as Mara Rooney. |

Entitled, indeed. But I wonder how much is Fincher's fault and how much of that baggage did she start with? Maybe she was told since birth how much of a speeshul snowflake she was? Whatever the case, that's some Threat Level Paltrow she's spewing for someone whom half of America doesn't know exists. Seriously. But not even Gwyneth at the height of Harvey's powers said stuff like this. We may need to recalibrate the snotty entitled actor scale for this one. And if she's like this already, what's going to happen if she actually becomes A list or wins an Oscar? Jeez. |

God, she needs to calm down. Honey, you didn't have to accept that role in NOES. I can't wait until the other two movies are done and she fades back into obscurity.

I don't like the name either. But what's really weird to me is that she chose to take out her real first name (Patricia) so that her name is her Mom's maiden name and her (and her Dad's) last name. Both of those last names are big in the football world. It's sort of like if Gwyneth Paltrow went my Danner Paltrow... or Rumer by Moore Willis. Jolie Pitt or Voight Pitt (for any one of their kids).

I always want to refer to her as Mara Rooney and maybe that is her real name anyway.
I never paid much attention to her that much but she does sound quite entitled.

Her real name is Patricia Rooney Mara. Her middle name is her mom's maiden name. For some reason she dropped her first name when she started acting.
