She gets a lifetime pass from me just for doing such a great job as Salander. I don't really care if she's painful in real life - I don't have to hang out with her! Sure, she's privileged, and that naturally shows in her worldview, but she doesn't rub me up the wrong way the way that Fishstick does. I don't feel like she's looking down at everyone; just that she's pretty awkward and not into the whole media thing. And really, who loves every single aspect of their job?

She seems less impressed with herself and less desperate to achieve and main It girl status. I don't see Rooney posing for a dozen Vogue covers and in 10 years when her star has faded stomp around on a song and dance show and suggest $4,000 must have boots and colon cleanses to the masses.
One huge difference I see in them both that seems to affect their views on acting and their image are their backgrounds. Both are children of privilege. Gwyneth's dad certainly had a few buckets of money growing up, way more than most and she ain't hurting now, but Rooney's family are straight up focking billionaires. It's like flying first class versus hopping on one of the the family private jets. Once a week Merry Maid service versus 24 hour live-in house keepers.
Fishstick wants to give off that modern grace kelly rich princess vibe, but with all her endeavors to stay relevant she comes off more as rich beeyotch. Fishstick's family tree ain't even in the same forest as Rooney's.

Someone tell her she's allowed to smile.

She may be boring and awkward, but she's really good in SE, and her skin is luminous!

Aw, she looks like a darling elfin creature with her little smile and little dimple in that close-up with Jude.

Was her version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo considered successful? I haven't heard anything about a sequel recently?

Was her version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo considered successful? I haven't heard anything about a sequel recently? It made a decent amount of money ($230M global on a $90M budget) but it's considered a bit of a disappointment considering the massive hype and promotion it had behind it. That's the main reason why Sony seems to be dragging its feet to get the sequel made.
