She seems pretty nuts. That's all I know. I can see why she's vilified in the media.
I think if she weren't so outwardly crazy she'd probably get an easier shake in the media.
He was probably dumb/lonely to marry her, and I wondered why he was taken in, but then I saw her on a talk show, was bewildered by the nuttiness, and found myself feeling sorry for him. She was above and beyond what I thought a gold-digger would seem like.
Nonetheless, if she has so much lack of self-control to go off spouting to the media, I figure she must have shown her true colours to McCartney at some point before the actual marriage took place. But she's THAT crazy I can't find myself feeling anything nice towards her.

I think Paul genuinely loved Linda and was truly heartbroken when she died. I wouldn't put it past Heather to have researched Linda and, when she met him, did her best to duplicate her personality. He saw a stringy-haired blonde who claimed to be involved with "causes" and he thought he'd found Linda again. Heather is loony enough to keep her craziness in check until she got the payout.

I remember a joint interview they did for 60 Minutes (I think) in 2001. I didn't know much about Heather Mills other than her leg and charitable work. Anyway, the crazy was coming off her in waves from minute one of the interview. I can't begin to imagine why Paul would marry her when it was way obvious that she was a less-than-truthful opportunist.

I think she kept the crazy in check long enough to get a ring on her finger in order to get a payout.
Remember when she talked about how terrible Paul was because he wouldn't buy her a fancy antique bedpan so she wouldn't have to get up to go to the bathroom? Not just any bedpan, but a fancy antique one.
And I gotta say - I don't know what it is like since I have both my legs, but if I could get to the bathroom reasonably well in the middle of the night with just crutches, I think I would much prefer to do that than use a bedpan.

I saw a video clip on McNeill-Lehrer the News Hour. During the opening notes, it looked like the President was leaning over to explain to Malia what the song was. So cute. Speaking of cute, though, Paul really proves the KITH line about the cute, as a species, not aging well.

Aw, the Youtube videos of the Obamas singing along are adorable. The Beatles magic works every time. Oh but how I wish John would've stood on that stage instead of dear Paul. *sigh*

Oh I fully believe he knew she was craxy. I remembers a story in the news when they were engaged that her ring fell off the balcony of a hotel or something like that. The excuse? They were playing with it and it fell. Umm, no. I'm thinking more like a fight someone yanked it off or tore it off and threw it out. Who does that? At least they are no longer together. Did he know she was "allegedly" a prostitute?

Ya know, of course I have no real insight to these folks and their messed up relationship. But I think it really just boils down to people do dumb things when it comes to "love". I think he got a great blessing when it came to Linda, because he could have been sorting his way through one nut job after another his whole life. She was crazy from the get go, his kids hated her, his associates advised against it and he was nuts to marry her. But haven't we all known someone who's done something that dumb? I had a friend who, when we were roommates brought home this guy who was from the get go the skeeviest craziest nastiest man right from the start. He made a bad impression on everyone (but her) from day one. We all told her he was bad news and he showed his tail in front of her and the world every! single! day! But all she would ever say was that he was all she'd ever hoped and prayed for and the perfect man in everyway . A year later they were married, less than a year after that they were messily divorced and she still to this day wonders why WE did nothing to stop her from making such a mistake And you gotta figure Sir Paul's probably even more removed from reality. Like someone said above, he's not used to hearing "no" He latched onto some dream and refused to let it go, even as said dream was spouting crazy right in front of his face. It happens... even to the Cute Ones.
