He was in the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and I though he acquitted himself rather well in it given what he had to work with. I think he'll be able to pull off the more vulnerable aspects of Finnick's character.

He was in Snow White & The Huntsman. He was just there. I didn't find him to have much on screen presence or charisma.

All I remember about him in the Pirates movie was that he was useless until he took off his shirt.

I just always pictures Finnick as some bronzed Adonis. This guy looks like he could barely withstand a light breeze, let alone win a Hunger Games. I would have cast Jesse Williams.

I wish one of the members of the Olympic swimming team was a good actor and could play Finnick. Because that would be...just awesome.
Seriously - I hope this dude hits the gym because I always pictured Finnick with that tall, broad and lean swimmer's body. If he doesn't show up with Michael Phelps abs I will be kinda disappointed.

He's not my Finnick, the one I pictured in my head as I read the book, but then, no one ever will be. As with any casting choice how they do his hair, makeup, and wardrobe is going to be really important. With a tan, a few sessions with a personal trainer, and some blonde hair I can see it. Again, he won't be the Finnick I had in my head, who was sort of a cross between Ryan Lochte and Jason Momoa, but with the right styling he could work.
I bought the DVD two nights ago and have watched it twice since. I had forgotten how amazing Stanley Tucci was as Caesar. It's not a very big part but man does he capture him perfectly. I had also forgotten just how vicious Clove was; Cato is traditionally held up as the main tribute villain, but at least he seemed to show a flash of remorse at the end. Clove was just so unapologetically cruel.

I just realized while watching this again on the weekend that the actress who played Clove was also in the psycho-thriller movie The Orphan as the orphan!

I think I already knew that, the girl does a great scary/crazy face.
I was watching some behind-the-scenes stuff on the DVD and Lenny Kravitz was saying that Jennifer Lawrence always calls him Mr. Kravitz because she's friends with Zoe. I just think that's so adorable.

Lenny as Cinna was my favorite part of the movie. That was perfect casting and I loved how he described his character. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something about how Cinna was an artist and in the climate of the Capitol, how can you really express yourself artistically without coming up against the powers that be. And I liked how Cinna slightly rebelled against Capitol culture just by dressing "normal" and not like one of the Capitol crazies.
