Young Adult is an upcoming 2011 comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman. The screenplay is written by Diablo Cody. Reitman and Cody worked together previously on the 2007 film, Juno. The film is scheduled to have a limited release December 9, 2011, and a wide release December 16.

Plot

Per the official website:
Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn't quite gotten over high school, either.

I just heard about this the other day and am really looking forward to it--the main character looks like a real piece of work.

I think this isn't being hyped as much as some other stuff, but I definitely see some award nominations - Reitman and Cody certainly had a winning collabo with Juno.

I was not a fan of Juno (don't hate me!), but I am looking forward to seeing this, especially because Patrick Wilson is easy on the eyes.

This looks really good. I was also happy to hear that Diablo ditched the "Juno-isms" (not that I minded, but that seemed to be what people glommed onto in terms of criticism. And Patton Oswalt! I need to accept my jealousy of Diablo's talent and just enjoy the movie.

I wouldn't call myself a Diablo Cody fan (I HATED Juno but actually sort of liked Jennifer's Body), but I can't wait to see this!! It looks darkly hilarious and awesome.
