I searched for an old thread but couldn't find it (unless I'm blind). But...did you guys know about this[/color] I grew up on this show (and to a greater extent, Knots Landing) and am pretty stoked about this. THE REAL PEOPLE, you guys! JR Ewing! It could be awful...or AMAZINGLY awful, if you catch my drift.

My mother nearly named me Dallas. Yes, after the show. I was born in '81. (The best part? My best friend is named after a character on Dynasty.)
I can't wait. (Especially since SoapNet may be going away and the original series isn't streaming). If it's good, it'll be good and if not, it looks like it could be so bad it's good.

Seems like the main characters ought to be people like John Ross and others who were children in the old series. Somehow anybody but Larry Hagman (playing evilness to the hilt as JR) would seem a bit over the hill. At least to me.

From what I read, it's going to focus on John Ross vs. Christopher (Bobby's kid), and the parents will be present, but not the focus.

Ah Dallas, my 80s TV crack. Please tell me I wasn't the only person here who practiced their "three faces" for the opening credits when they would hypothetically be cast for the show. BTW, if they keep the theme as the TNT site is implying, that will be awesome. I always wondered why Bobby and J.R. had different accents.

LOVE Dallas with all my heart. Watched it as a child and then in reruns on SoapNet. I'm such a fan that I went and visited South Fork ranch just outside of Dallas. Even have a photo of me at the outdoor breakfast table. The museum there is great by the way. Am looking forward to the continuing story of the Ewings.

Even have a photo of me at the outdoor breakfast table. Listen, I grew up in freaking Germany and on my first visit to Dallas in 1994 (I was 15), the first thing my brother and I wanted to see was Southfork I LOVED this show and I'll definitely be watching the new episodes. I'm a tad worried about Larry Hagman though (please don't put him into the death pool!). Hopefully, the actors cast for John Ross and Christopher will be charismatic enough to pull off a rivalry that won't be completely boring. I don't want this to be on Melrose Place 2.0 level.

Ok, I'm glad they are bringing back some of the originals, but I want them to bring back Charlene Tilton as Lucy Ewing! She was so cute and perfect for the "spoiled heiress" role! If her face wasn't so jacked up, I'd call for a cameo from Joan Van Ark also. This show had such good storylines.
I had a 45 of the theme song.

A reboot of Dallas? With the original JR and Bobby? Word?
The script had better be good if Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy signed on for this.
I didn't realize Larry Hagman was 80 years old(!) More power to him. I hope he doesn't just wither away and die during its run like Rock Hudson did.

I'm totally on board, provided that at no point does Pamela fall asleep and start dreaming again.
