I enjoyed her latest Bravo special very much. I thought the Oprah bit was definitely the best part. I especially loved Kathy immitating Oprah's very annoying habit of shouting the last four words of every sentence, in that football annoucer's voice.
"Come down here and get a HUG FROM BARBRA STREISAND!!!!"

This is going to sound really weird, but I always thought her and Andy Dick would make such a cute couple.

I didn't have an opinion about Kathy but this makes me like her. I also laughed at her Dakota Fanning comment during the Golden Globes (?). What did she say? |

Something like, "We've just gotten word that little Dakota Fanning has checked herself into rehab for drug addiction. That's very sad and we should all pray for her."
I thought there was no way anybody could ever interpret that as anything other than a joke (she's 10!), but apparently some people did think it was serious and Dakota's "team" demanded a formal retraction and apology.

I saw her show last night on Bravo. It was great. She did mention being banned from a number of talk shows. They were Letterman, Ellen (which really surprised me), Regis and Kelly, and finally Leno for what happened during her appearance there. Any gossip on what happened to have her banned??
I have to say I was surprised how she reacted to Leno's joke about her. I love Kathy, but it's like she can dish it out but can't take it. She knew she was being ridiculous, too, which was even worse. At least the woman is honest. It was a great show.

I love her honesty too. She sometimes is on KROQ in Los Angeles and is awesome. I agree with you, Diane63, about the whole dishing out/taking it. She's gotta know she's not the most attractive girl in Hollywood and if she's going to show pictures of her standing next to Carmen Electra, well, what do you expect Jay to say? Her reaction really surprised me. I wonder how she can afford the fleet of expensive cars and huge home (it looks like it's in West Hills, in the valley)?? I really like her husband, but I wonder why he's following her around all the time (maybe it's just the editing).

I know! He just follows her around. It's kind of odd. But I did love how he said " I hate Star because of the way she treats Kathy" Love a man that stands up for his woman. Hee.
Now as for standing next to Carmen, that's not fair. I'm sure Kathy has quite a few years on Electra. We'll see how well Electra ages.
Does anyone know why she's "banned" from Leno and Ellen?
ETA: I did an "age" check on IMDB. Kathy was born in 1961, and Carmen in 1972. I'm going to say it!! Me thinks Kathy lies. OMG. There, I said it. Allegedly.

I like her reality show. I think she can be hilarious off-the-cuff.
But I don't really like her stand-up act. I understand it's mostly improv and riffing. But the material is just a little too undeveloped ... like it needs another 30 seconds cooking in the microwave to polish it up. Most of the time, her act is: "So Whitney Houston is ALL ... and then I'm ALL ... I know. Can you believe it? I KNOW. ::eyebrow pop::" The worst is most of the time, the dish isn't that good or revelatory.
It's funny as edited sound bites in a conversational setting -- like on her reality show. But it's not that great on stage for a 60-minute set.

IIRC, she said she was banned because her skewering of celebrities scared the other shows because they don't want to piss off any other potential celebrity guests. I thought her DVD signing would have gone better in CA didn't she have a string of very successful shows at one of the major clubs in LA within the last year? She must be one hell of a money manager to afford a house like that while on the D-list. |
